Description: Situated on the Sawkill Creek, in Milford, PA the Waterwheel Café, Bakery & Bar was started in April of 1989 in a restored 19th century water-powered mill, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built in the early 1800's this lively example of American history is now in action and its doors are open to the public. Water rushes over the three-story high water-wheel, driving a series of shafts, gears, pulleys and belts that once powered the stones & grain-milling equipment, all visible through the glass walls of the Café & Bar. Starting at first as a bakery & lunch café the Waterwheel has grown into a full scale restaurant, bakery and bar-serving breakfast & lunch daily with dinners being served Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings. Waterwheel's customers are comfortable in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The kitchen staff consistently prepares a fresh and flavorful eclectic menu that excites not only the palate, but the eye as well.

The place is expensive for what you get. The service is god awful. Went once wont go back so not much to say based on that alone.

“Lunch was just right”

We enjoyed a fresh vegetable and rice dish in a lovely setting. The service was nice and on a sunny day I am sure the views terrific.

“Great Bakery!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

Recently celebrated my mom's 90th birthday here with my whole family. Food was OK , chocolate birthday cake to die for. Waitress spilled hot water for tea on my brother, suffered mild burn. Staff barely acknowledged the incident.

Very good brunch, not much to recommend other than bakery.

My daughter and I enjoy coming here for brunch. Not only for the food, but people watching is great...the area is cute too next to a creek.

“Delicious dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014

We were passing through Millford and after we went to TA for suggestions for dinner, walked into the Waterwheel. The cafe is small but very charming and we could imagine that the warmer weather views of the water would add to the ambience. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. Rural PA is not where you would expect to find a selection of Vietnamese dishes. All the diners around us seemed to be enjoying both their dinners and the restaurant's large selection of fresh baked desserts.
