We were positively disgusting when we arrived at the Levi Deal Mansion, our bicycles, our luggage, and our persons caked with mud after a long, rainy bike ride on the GAP trail. The owners ran out to meet us, all smiles, with rags and hoses, whisked us inside, and gave us a glass of wine while they dealt with our filthy bikes and laid down drop cloths for our dirty shoes and bags. The mansion truly lives up to its name and is one of the most attractive homes of its kind that we have encountered. The owners are absolutely delightful -- warm, funny, very engaging, and they clearly love their work. The breakfast was spectacular and we were speechless at the sight of the largest, MOST delicious apple pancake in recent memory. We would happily return just to have another slice!

What a great stop, my wife was hiking the trails from DC to Pittburgh and the family all joined up here, wife on trail, Marine fro North Carolina and husband/other son from Pittsburgh. Amenities were top notch, everything was walkable and breakfast was delightful. Excellent weekend.

Room Tip: great stop for hikers or Bikers

Like many other reviewers a friend and I were riding the GAP. The Mansion is just a few blocks from the trail. We wanted to save money so we shared Caleb's room and asked for an air mattress so we could each have our own space. There's a locked garage to put your bikes in. The building is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Breakfast was awesome and filling (they're vegetarian and vegan friendly if you want). The room was spacious (*more* so than their pictures conveyed). The water pressure was strong. Jan, the hostess, was incredibly friendly, helpful, and just generally above and beyond. There's nothing bad to say about this place, and I plan to return. Thank you Jan and Michael and thank you Pennsylvania for creating the GAP!

You won't find a B&B with more accommodating owners. Jan and Michael are wonderful hosts and made us feel like old friends. This was our second visit and both rooms we have stayed in have been clean and pretty. The food is delicious too! The B&B is near a railroad track but the train noise did not bother me at all. See you next summer!

My husband and I travel quite a bit and although I always check tripadvisor before booking, I have never written a review....until now! We spent a week biking from Georgetown, Washington D.C. on the C+O Canal and The Great Allegheny Passage trails to Ohiopyle, PA. At our Meyersdale stop we were very pleasantly surprised by the 5 star accommodations at the Levi-Deal Mansion. Jan and Michael, the owners/inn keepers, are hosts extraordinaire who greeted us upon our arrival by storing our bikes, offering us snacks and wine (or whatever we preferred) and showing us to our serene carriage house room. Later, they gave us a tour of the loveingly restored mansion and because we had booked our bike trip through Mountainside Bike Tours, prepared for us a 4 course gourmet dinner using local produce. We slept soundly and before mounting our bikes loved our custom ordered breakfast of fresh fruit, homemade maple yogurt and granola.... perfect!
Forget the Relais-Chateaux list and stay at the Levi-Deal Mansion for an equally special experience.

I was looking for a bed and breakfast near the Great Allegheny Passage...the rail trail that goes from Pittsburgh to Cumberland Maryland where it meets up with the C&O Canal Trail...and I stumbled on the Levi Deal Mansion. It was perfectly located for great 'out and back' rides through the interesting towns of Ohiopyle and Confluence. And it was a perfect place to come home to...a lovely house, beautifully furnished and warmed by the generous hospitality of Jan and Michael. Breakfasts were delicious in a beautiful breakfast room where tables allowed for private dining. The pantry was open to guests where wine and beer and snacks were offered. Our room was pretty and comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. And, there was a garage where we could store our bikes. I think I have to mention the trains that...well...rumble is not really a big enough word to described the sound...they scream through the town and in the middle of the night it sounds like they might come through the house. Ear plugs are provided on the nightstand. Though it was a little unnerving and it did wake me up when they came through, it didn't mar the pleasure of being there. Besides the rail trail, which is fantastic, Meyersdale is about a 35 minute drive from the Flight 93 Memorial which is a moving experience to visit. Meyersdale is short on restaurants, but there are just enough to get you through a weekend.

We just spent a night at the Levi Deal Mansion and I was so impressed, I had to write a review. The house itself is as impressive as it looks on line (except we weren't prepared for the setting so close to regular, small-town-America homes--it really stands out like a sore thumb) with stained glass windows and original woodwork, comfortable beds and modern bathrooms/amenities. The best part? The hosts--Jan and Michael. We have stayed in a lot of bed and breakfasts around the world but have NEVER been made to feel so at home as they made us feel. (right down to offering us wine and beer from his own stock!!). They went out of their way to help us and they were great bike trail gurus as well. Breakfast was fantastic and if you get a chance to taste Michael's homemade ice cream, you may never go back to store-bought again! The ONLY downfall of the stay? There is a train only 1/2 block away that literally goes by every 10-15 minutes most parts of the day and night. Drove us crazy and scared the heck out of us in the middle of the night. Other than that, the place is amazing,

Room Tip: We were really happy with Gabrielle's room.
