Wonderful resort! You can't ask for any better for their price. Everything is made for couples to relax. A lot of things to do, great nightly entertainment, excellent food. Will recommend to anyone who is looking for romantic getaway.

I stayed at the Pocono Palace Resort for my birthday this weekend. All I can say is unbelievable. I can't believe the cost of this hotel is so high for it to be a MOTEL. Let's face it this place really needs a severe makeover it looks like a old 70 porn motel.

Upon my arrival I used the public area restrooms and was automatically disgusted. It smelled like a gas station urinal and LADIES please remember to FLUSH. Just Gross. Going up to our room there was a stairwell- which is enough to make you winded if out of shape.

Entering the room was an utter disappointment, The room is outdated, had cob webs, a cigarette burn on the comforter, pubic hair in the shower (thank goodness I travel with LYSOL WIPES) and old school television with VCR player. Now that's funny who still owns VCR tapes and travel with them lol. The sofa had a huge orange stain of some type on it, need not to say WE DIDN'T GO NEAR IT. It was corduroy material and small. The television has poor reception the image was not sharp whatsoever.

Oh about those toiletries they are saying they have..YEA right it's two bars of some greasy soap...THAT'S IT. NO shampoo, no lotion, no shower cap. The shower is crapped for my 5'8" 150 frame which means if your a big person...good luck showering there with mobility not to mention the rainfall shower head.

I must admit they claim they have a lot of activities and which we partook in a couple: Pool, game. Didn't bother going snowmobiling as "track" was a joke with minimal snow. Pool smelled strong of chlorine. Gymnasium is huge- bring your ball I guess. Very small fitness area wouldn't call it a Fitness room. Also I thought it was odd to have male and female sauna rooms when it's a COUPLES resort???

Dinner I must say was pretty good it was included in the room cost. Not much to complain about there.

Breakfast choice is which also included in the cost was minimal consisting of cold cereal, juice and a egg sandwich. We didn't bother with that and went to the Diner down the road.

For the cost of this room it definitely wasn't worth it. But we made the best of what we had :) Fun is where you make it.

Room Tip: We had the Comfort Lodge Room I believe - All Inclusive package.

This was are first trip to Pocono Palace We Loved it !!! After reading some of the reviews I was a little leary but ,The room was great we stayed in The Fanastay Apple We could have upgraded But I wanted the view of the lake and the only rooms that have them are the chalet and Apple I loved having my coffee and lunch time snack on the deck looking out at lake ( yes we were lucky enough to have a 50 degree day in March) Our room was clean alittle out dated but very nice The food was Ok and there was plenty to do even during the week. The in room pool was very small more like a hot tub But was so nicely warm always 90 degress Everyone was very nice and helpful at front desk They even offer tours so you can see all the rooms If you and your honey want a romantic trip get to Pocono Palace We cant wait to go back

Room Tip: If you loke a view give up the Champagne room for the Fanasty Apple Room

This was our first visit, and we had a blast. We stayed in the Lakeside Chalet. The heart shaped tub was very exciting & inviting. We took full advantage!
Loved the food, activities! The band was hilarious!!!!!! Great cover band. So many different things to do. We liked snow mobiling, archery, playing pool, mini golf, to name a few. We will definitely be back SOON!!!

Never was planning a weekend getaway so simple. If you are a low maintanence easy going and fun couple who appreciates just slowing down and relaxing and doing activities together at leisure this place is for you. If you allow it to be it will be the easiest time you have away for a few days. Beautiful lake to walk around and enjoy during the sunrise and window view breakfast. Great entertainment. Will definately be back.

Some of the Cleopatra Champagne Tower Room reviews we read prior to booking made us nervous -- but we're SO glad we decided to take the chance and draw our own conclusions. Our stay was absolutely wonderful and everything was immaculately clean. We arrived exhausted and left energized. It was the perfect reprieve from the harshness of winter -- in fact, we had such a blast that we booked for next year before we even left!

An in-room pool is definitely not something you come across every day -- talk about a killer app! Although fairly small and shallow (I'm estimating maybe 4 feet deep, 9 feet long on the diagonal, and 4 feet wide in the middle), it was absolutely divine...extremely clean, beautifully lit (better still when illumaminated along the edges with candles), and deliciously warm even by winter standards. The room itself was also warm enough that you wouldn't freeze the second you left the water, and in any case the dry sauna was right nearby in case you needed an extra shot of heat. It was a unique experience I'll never forget.

Another great feature of the room was its fireplace. Starting a fire was easy, the flames were large and vigorous, the fire burned brightly for a solid 2 hours on one log, and the glass panel kept smoke out of the room (not that there was much of that anyway). It was one of the best in-room fireplaces we've encountered.

The champagne-glass jacuzzi was also fun, but be forewarned that the jets will froth up any bubble bath you add to several more times the volume it would otherwise occupy in still water, so use it sparingly!

We were excited that the room had a Bose Wave radio, but were disappointed by the lack of built-in CD player or even a modern auxiliary jack that could support a portable CD player or iPod (it had RCA only). So, you might want to bring your own standalone CD player with speakers. We had also hoped there would be pay-per-view/on-demand movies available, but there was only a limited selection of DVDs on offer from the front desk -- we still managed to find one we liked, but will probably bring our own next time.

The bedroom had cute little twinkle-lights on the ceiling that could be controlled via a dimmer, making for an unusually gentle way to wake up in the morning. During the night, there was no noise to speak of -- nice and quiet. The circular bed was perfectly comfortable for me as a back and side sleeper, but my husband is a stomach sleeper and found that there was a bit of sag in the mattress that was hard on his back, forcing him to change his sleeping position. Also, be advised that the air in the room has to be kept fairly dry in order to counteract the moisture from the pool, jacuzzi, shower, steam sauna, etc., so keep a full glass of water or water bottle at your bedside to avoid getting parched overnight. It should also be noted that even though the room is huge, it's very well insulated (for which I was grateful as a cold-sensitive person), so there's no need to set the thermostat especially high -- you'll get too hot if you do.

The building exterior housing our room was fairly drab (you'd never have guessed how awesome it was inside if that's what you were going by), and the interior of the room did show some signs of normal wear and tear (the infrastructure was probably at least 30 years old, so that's hardly surprising) -- but again, everything was super-clean and nothing was broken. Housekeeping was helpful and proactive without being intrusive.

While the food at Pocono Palace wasn't necessarily haute cuisine, we thoroughly enjoyed every meal (breakfast and dinner were all-you-can-eat and were included in the package price, as were all tips). There was a decent selection for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike, and the waitstaff were accommodating and courteous. Buffet food was kept nice and hot -- puffs of steam rose up from each dish, which added to the cozy vibe.

The selection of resort activities (which were largely weather-dependent) and evening entertainment acts (which weren't really our cup of tea) was unfortunately fairly limited, but the room provided plenty of entertainment in itself, so that wasn't a big deal for us.

In short, the overall experience was delightfully distinctive, memorable, and romantic, and we felt that we got good value for all that the package included (we also received a substantial discount on our booking for next year). A few aspects of the room where we stayed could have used some modernization, but even so, they did not detract from our great time. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

I must preface this review by saying I am not the type of person to usually complain. You have to be understanding and realize not everything works out perfect all the time. That being said, my stay was a bit disappointing. After a four hour drive, my wife and I arrived at Pocono Palace at 3:15pm. Check in was at 3pm. We were told our room was not ready, yet. Seemed odd, but not an issue. We waited in the lobby, for one hour. We then walked around to check on a basketball shooting contest. Spent a few minutes there. Went back to the lobby. Room still not ready and was told it would probably be another hour. We went to the trivia contest in the lounge. Spent some time there and got lucky enough to win a bottle of "champagne". When I picked it up from the bartender he asked if I was going back to my room. I told him I was waiting for my room and he asked me to come back because I had to take the bottle to my room. Seemed a bit odd, but I sort of understand. Back to the lobby, again. at 5:35pm we were told our room was ready. Dinner starts at 6pm. Snowmobiling ended around 4. We hurry to our room change clothes and back to the building where buffet was being served. A reasonable buffet, but not as extensive as you might expect for the price. Nothing I am going to complain about except, no bread or rolls for dinner. Nice dessert table. Off then to shoot some pool and play minature golf upstairs. A good way to spend some time and just kind of relax for a minute or two. Then back to our room, after picking up my bottle at the lounge. We stayed in a Champagne room. Room was an experience if a bit dated. Lighting and just the layout was a plus. To be honest there was something floating in the pool that had me jumping back out. Maybe someone had used the pool for something other than swimming. Imagine that. To the Champagne glass jacuzzi. Very nice and large. Plenty of room for two. Back to the sauna. Could not get it to work. No biggie. Nice bed. Fireplace was good and with light snow expected that night we couldn't wait for snowmobiling the following morning. Up and to buffet breakfast which was a big improvement over dinner. Then back to the lobby to ask about snowmobiling. We were told there would be no snowmobiling for weather reasons. Bummer. Messed around in the basketball court for while. Checked out. Four hour drive home. I would maybe try again in the spring, but probably not again in the winter.
