Our third trip to the Pocono Resorts. This time we tried the Pocono Palace. We have stayed at Cove Haven, Paradise Stream and now Pocono Palace. Since this was our third trip we are now Forever Lovers! We have gone every 2-3 years. It has never been a disappointment. We have liked more things at each resort then the other but truly it's a nice romatic get-a-way and for us it was just what we needed.

We enjoyed the flat area of Pocono Palace and not having to climb a GIANT hill to get to our room as you do at Cove Haven. I would say because Cove Haven is the biggest of all three resorts it probably has more to do then the other two. It also has the best food and entertainment. We loved our Villa at Paradise Stream. It had the newly famous blush bed and it was a seperate building so no one was right next to you. It also had a lovely back porch that overlooked a small lake. For our most recent trip to Pocono Palace please read more below.

We stayed in the Apple Fantasy Suite and highly recommend it. We loved having a pool in our room and being able to use it whenever we had the urge. I know lots of people would say...."Why pay all that money for a room with a pool when there is one on site?" Well, if you've ever had a romantic get away then you should know the answer. Pools in your room do not require a swim suit! The room has a blue hue and is super nice. The glass floor on the top floor as you walk in looks all the way down to the third floor where your private pool awaits. The heart shaped jacuzzi in the room is nice if you want a little relaxation while looking out onto the lake. We had a nice deck but it was too cold to sit outside. I would imagine in the summer and fall it's a super great room. The staff is friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you are happy.

There are two dinner themed nights. Friday- Fat Paulie's Italian Night and Saturday Strip night. Wasn't all that impressed with Fat Paulie's at this location but it was ok. Our first experience with that theme was as Paradise Stream and we were not that impressed either. We had been spoiled by our first trip which was Cove Haven and Strip Night

Strip night was a ittle disappointing at the Pocono Palace. The first one we attended at Cove Haven was a "new" thing. So we were looking forward to it but we were disappointed that they only had two steaks to choose from and a filet was not one of them. Our waitress was a bit on the cool side, rushed even though it wasn't crowded. Was disappointed we were not offered the signature steak sauce instead received A1. I don't know if she just didn't want to get the steak sauce because all she did was reach behind her at another table to grab the A1. My steak which was a NY strip was extremely fatty. That is why I always get the filet. Sadly not a choice this time. This is one thing that really needs to improve at the Pocono Palac for it has made our decision to go back to Cove Haven the next time.

I think the people who have rated their experience low on this site expect way too much. Sure it's a little out dated but it's FUN. It's an experience to be had by all! There were very young couples early 20's all the way to older couples married 49 years! My husband and I are both in our 40's.This is the most time we have spent in our room between the three resorts. We just enjoyed each other so much and that is what these places are for people! It is very clean. So what there a smudges on a mirror. Really? That's your complaint? If you don't like the round bed, there are suites that offer the "blush bed" which is a very nice SQUARE king size bed. However, it isn't available in all suites. We opted for the amenities we wanted which came with the round bed. Not my fave but everything else out weighed the bed issue.

Thank you Pocono Palace for a wonderful, romantic fun filled adventure. We enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to our Forever Lovers benefits!

This is a couples-only, love promoting resort, not swingers place nor a regular hotel. Its former life as a casino shows in the main building, but it has experienced rebirth as an engaging, scenic resort for couples. It is true, what is said in some of the other reviews: it is not spotless or high end (Fairway suite). (By the way, we peeked into some of the more expensive suites and they look fabulous.) But the wonderful aspects of this place are the super friendly, competent staff (unbelievable!) and the sincere efforts to offer fun and engaging activities in a beautiful setting. Take your girlfriend, husband, same-sex partner or any special someone there for a loving time. Take it from a wife who had the giggles at the heart shaped jacuzzi, mirrors and activity list for the first hour and was totally in love a few hours later. Well done, Pocono Palace!

Just wanted to say we love Pocono Palace. Went there for 5 days over New Years and had a great time as always. This was our 7th time in 4 years. It's 2 1/2 hours from Connecticut, the same time as going to Brattleboro Vermont. We are Forever Lovers and before that got discounts through a Getaway Club from work. Yeah, the place is old and reminds me of the bridal mags from the 80's, but we always seem to get a great housekeeping woman who keeps the place clean, we always bring our own coffee maker and pillows and always treat the whole staff with respect . From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone tries to make your stay as happy and comfortable as possible. Gail, Theresa, Matthew, Janice, Dina, Rob, Shane, Gina and everyone else who we have had contact with over the last 7 stays have been wonderful. When we arrive, the people at the front desk may not know our first names, but they always remember out last name and greet us like old friends. The food has usually been outstanding and I must admit this time it was mostly served buffet style, not the sitdown with menus they normally have, but it was still tasty and varied. As the resort has been sold to a new management company this past fall, some of the changes we noticed were probably upper management decisions and not something originating with Pocono Palace itself. All in all, we didn't notice anything really bothersome and the couple of things like a missing light bulb and room keys not working when we first went to the room were minor and fixed quickly. We also go to all inclusives in Mexico and the Dominican Republic and while those places are wonderful in their own way, Pocono Palace remains a constant and we hope it stays that way.

We travel a lot but always as a family, so this was our first "couples retreat". We really needed some rest & relaxation and we were not let down. The Pocono Palace was quiet when we craved it but had enough activities to keep us busy when we wanted to venture out. We enjoyed the beautiful lake view, fire & pool of our fantasy apple room and then enjoyed billiards, roller skating, ping pong, shooting hoops & minature golf in the public areas. Wish we would have known about the snowmobiles, b/c we would have brought winter gear but there's always next time.

My husband and I chose to spend our honeymoon at pocono palace. We spent close to $2,000 on this trip and basically this was for Buffett and a outdated run down room. When we arrived we asked if snowmobiling was available at cove haven. We were told no, and that it wouldn't be during our entire stay as they require. 3 foot base and currently had maybe a 1 foot base. We spent gas and $100 to go somewhere else to snowmobile. The next day the resort got 6 inches of snow and they were snow mobiling. So we were lied to by staff for this above problem. After the small snow storm we figured we would ask if cove haven, which is an hour away, was doing tubing. Two front desk staff told us yes, neither called to check. We drove the hour drive to cove haven for them to tell us they were not doing tubing that day due to not having enough snow. My husband and I were extremely upset. I called the resort number on the website to file a complaint and was told they couldn't do anything but that we could complain to a manager at pocono palace. When we returned to pocono palace we asked to speak to a manager and the director of housekeeping said that he was the mod and would handle our complaint. We explained to him what happened and he gave us passes to go to Shawnee for snow tubing. This really didnt make up for our time lost, but we accepted the gesture. When we got the passes from the front desk staff, who is the one who told us cove haven was doing tubing, she was rude to us and made it out as if she did nothing wrong. The next day we had already paid for couples massages at 1pm so after that we drove to Shawnee and waited in line to find out they were sold out and we couldn't use the passes. This was our only opportunity as we were leaving the following day. Waisting even more of our time on our honeymoon we drove back to pocono palace. My husband went in to give the passes back and was treated poorly by 2 different staff and no other resolution to our inconvenience was given. That night was New Year's Eve. We had several portraits taken and the Announcer said the pics would be available at 9am the next morning. We needed to get on the road by 9:30 and got there shortly before to pick up our pictures. The lady spreading them out yelled at me when I picked ours up saying the gift shop wouldn't be open until 10 and that we couldn't touch them until then. My husband and I wanted the picture so we decided to get coffee and wait. At 10 we walked back over there and she said it would be another 10 minutes before they were ready. I asked why we were told 9am and she snapped at me saying no one said 9. She said they aren't for sale until the gift shop opens. The gift shop should've opened at 10am and at 10:15 we were still waiting. I explained this is inconvenient for people who have to get on the road. She never apologized. The gift shop finally opened at 10:30. I can tell you I would never ever recommend this place. I feel as if we could have stayed at an outdated super 8 and had Golden Corral twice a day and spent 1/3 of the money that we spent. Nothing except food and entertainment was included and that was not worth the $2,000 we paid. Alcohol was insanely expensive. And if you didn't order 2 drinks with your meal at dinner or breakfast you wouldn't have enough to drink with your meal because there weren't enough wait staff for the volume of guests. my husband and I are disgusted that we gave our money to this resort. We would've spent twice as much to go elsewhere if we knew what we were getting ourselves into. We have never been so displeased with staff, accommodations, or all inclusiveness of a resort in our lives. And what is most frustrating is the staff made us seem like we were at fault. Not a great way to run a business.

I am constantly shocked by the negative reviews. We stayed at the Palace for the umpteenth time for new years and had an absolute blast, as usual. The staff is great, the food is fantastic and the ambience can't be beat. It is not expensive in the least if you consider the in room and resort amenities and the fact that meals and activities are included. Drinks are not expensive either if you consider average hotel prices. If you are miserable and looking to complain then you won't have fun there or anywhere else. If you are looking for a great getaway with the one you love then you will have a blast. We have stayed in numerous five star resorts and it is still our favorite getaway. We go at least three times a year.

Their main attraction are the hot tubs but we went there during winter time and there wasn't enough hot water to fill up the hot tub. Food was dry all over -- chicken and fish especially, and you can tell it was made as hurriedly as possible. The only good thing about the place is the night-time activity hosted by the MC who was very witty and funny during the games he hosted. And they have these awesome beds that shake when you do your thing with your loved one. It's pretty awesome.

REGARDLESS, there is no way in hell this place is worth 200 to 400 dollars a night. DO NOT GO.
