Ascot House Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #2 of 6 Marietta B&B and Inns
Reviewed October 12, 2012

This B & B is the best, you felt welcome the minute you walked in the door. The rooms are spacious, most with fireplaces, very clean and well stocked with extra linens, pillows etc. The historic building, remodeled by the present owner, Wendy, is beautiful with a lovely English Garden in the back. However the real gem of this B&B is Wendy herself. She has a wealth of information on the area and if asked will steer you in the right direction on what to see and/or avoid. Wendy also does the breakfast and you couldn't want for anything more. Everything was delicious and presented so nicely on Wedgewood China in the dining room. Believe me you will Not leave hungry! Wendy makes each guest feel like they are a special guest in her home and I'm sure as we were that most look forward to returning and would certainly recommend "The Ascot House" to anyone visiting the area. Thank you Wendy for just being you!
(We were a couple and my sister, and now we have reservations in March and are bringing friends with us.)

We had a lovely time in this beautiful 200-year-old home. Note that it is a “home,” not just a “house,” because the owner, Wendy, makes it feel so comfortable and welcoming. She has done a wonderful job of remodeling the original house without losing its character (and it has quite a history). She has thought of everything—from sumptuous breakfasts in the morning to a cheerful “welcome back” when you return from a day of exploring Amish country. A train passes nearby occasionally and there are some steps to climb, but Ascot House is so nice that you really won’t care!

Room Tip: Rooms are on the second and third floors, so this might not be the right place if you don't like...

This is a very beautiful house in a very charming town. The owner, Wendy, is very knowledgeable about the area and was able to give us great ideas for sightseeing. The breakfast was simply marvelous. I plan to return soon.

Room Tip: Our room was on the third floor and at my age it was a real struggle with a suitcase.

we have just returned from a weekend at the ascott house bed and breakfast in pa. wendy, the owner and inn keeper, could have not been more accomodating. the inn was the nicest i have stayed in. the rooms were beautiful, clean and very comfortable. the breakfasts were more than filling and were delicious. i would highly recommend staying here and will definitely recommend it to friends. the gardens are beautiful. i will certainly be back. my only drawback was that it was a ride, perhaps about 18 miles, to the amish country. we do not mind driving so this will not keep us from returning. wendy should certainly be proud of her inn and continue to show it off to everyone who stays there.

Room Tip: it does not matter what room you stay in. one is nicer than the next. we stayed in the norfolk room...

This is an excellent Bed and Breakfast with a hostess, Wendy, who is interesting, funny and extremely good in the kitchen! We were welcomed and truly made to feel at home in her lovely home. Our room was very comfortable and clean. A beautiful deck/patio added to our impromptu afternoon wine and cheese get together with Wendy and the other guests. She gave us some excellent advice on restaurants in the area and places to visit. I have not had a better breakfast at a bed and breakfast than I had at Ascot House. Delicious, ample and tastefully presented each morning. I would have loved to stay an additional day or two. Thank you for your warm hospitality, Wendy!

This past weekend at the Ascot House B&B was such a pleasant experience. Wendy is a wonderful, warm hostess who added such charm to our visit. We enjoyed her stories about the history of the area and how the Amish live. She cooks a fabulous breakfast and offers some really nice wine as well.
The Ascot House is beautifully furnished and with roomy, yet cozy rooms.
We stayed in the Suffolk room which, like the others, is large and has a jacuzzi and fireplace. It was the perfect retreat after a day of antiquing and exploring the area.
I highly recommend this B&B; the value is outstanding.

Visiting Wendy's Codd's Ascot B & B was a treat indeed! We started our visit with an afternoon tea, an indugence you might consider adding to your own visit, so worth the extra cost. The food was beyond wonderful and just a hint of the best breakfasts waiting for us each morning of our stay. Wendy truly makes you feel like the most welcome part of your family, a long lost relative whom she has been waiting all her life to meet. The rooms are spacious, with all the comforts of home. Hope we can get back again soon.

Room Tip: One room on the third floor does not have a private bath. All rooms are large and bright!
