Very nice place to visit. The tour was well run and showed quite a bit of the operation. Driving... read more
Very nice tour, we learned a lot about cows and milk. Our kids, 6 and 8, enjoyed the experience, and so did the adults! You see the food being grown, how the cows are fed (and how their poop is disposed of!), how they are milked, and where they are born. We got to see two cows in the process of being born on the tour. It was also very interesting to see the milking process and how the cows know just what to do! A sample of milk and getting to climb the silo made this a great experience. Highly recommend.
We grandparents took our 6 and 8 year old grandsons. We all loved learning about the cows from our guide Jeff, climbing the silo, and the freedom to ask questions!
Huge farm with thousands of cows and MILLIONS of chickens (but u can't see the chickens because of viruses). All kept in airy pens or houses so then look relaxed and happy. On the trolley tour, you see where the cows hang out all day, where their food is stored, how the manure is collected and reused, milking of the cows and even sometimes a cow giving birth! Free milk sample on the tour too. HUGE added bonus was that the tour guides Jeff & trolley driver Jenny made us all relaxed and feel at home and that i feel is the most important thing in a tour guide!!!
We took our grandsons ages 7 and 9 took the trolly tour. Nice to see a family operation still operating in todays world. The milking station was very interesting to observe. We all enjoyed the chocolate milk. Our grandsons enjoyed the climbing the silo along with their Pop Pop. Glad we took the time to visit a very impressive dairy farm.
I took 3 children, ages 10, 12, and 13 and they absolutely loved it (as did I). I would not think younger children would like it as much, but it is pretty cool to be able to walk up the silo and see down.
I agree with others who indicated this is for grownups and older children, say over the age of 8. This is no petting zoo. The tour was awesome showing the modern day technology with emphasis on cleanliness and environmental issues. We did the personal car tour with the 4 of us, because of my elderly parents. Jeff was an excellent tour guide and very patient and thoughtful of my parents limitations. Considering it was only $40 for the 4 of us, I thought it was very reasonably priced. Definitely worth the trip!
