We searched for the cheapest place in the area that still looked nice and accomodating, and our bet was right. The owners were very hospitable, room was clean, atmosphere was great. Kids loved going to collect eggs in the morning (don't expect much of it, a 5 min thing, but nice), location was good, close to everything, room small, shared bathroom, but really the most we could expect for the price.

We have just returned from a stay at Stone Haus B & B....We were extremely pleased with our stay! Upon arrival Angie was so sweet and accomodating! She showed us around the house and up to our room, gave us a list of near by resturants and directions to Lancaster, Intercourse, Bird-in-Hand, etc using the country roads! (which we highly recommend doing, our GPS wanted us to take the main roads, which are much faster but your in Lancaster County take the country roads!!) We were so tired when we first arrived, so not long after arrival we took a nice nap...beds were comfortable, we had a queen bed and 2 twins and a private bathroom, (The Garden Room(#1) is the only one with a private bath)...we drove out to Bird-in-Hand for dinner and strolled through the outlets....Woke up Saturday to the most amazing smell! We came downstairs and Angie had a fabulous breakfast spread!! Merv & Angie's daughter joined us for breakfast, which was so cute!! She informed us there was a really neat swing in the barn, of course we had to check it out!! They didn't have the animals which was a slight disapointment, but I quickly got over it!! there's kittens running around and so cute and friendly, they will jump in your car if you leave the doors open...I would have brought one home but I have a dog!! After the amazing breakfast and a swing on the rope swing we ventured down the country road and did shopping and eatting and just enjoying the simplicity of 'Amish Country'....Sunday morning, my boyfriend woke up and went to grab some coffee at the gas station down the road and Merv had a HUGE cup and fresh coffee waiting for him!! They had to have noticed he left early the morning before to get some coffee!! We were so pleased with our stay and can't wait to return!! Merv & Angie and their children are so kind and welcoming!! The house was spotless!!! Theres plenty of books in the lving room which you are welcome to bring up to your room and browse through, we of course took advantage of it!

Nice farm with animals. Children can feed and pet the animals, even fetch eggs together with Angie.
Basic lodging but nice and very clean. Free parking, free Wifi. Good and fresh breakfast.
You get directions for activities round Manheim.
Angie is very courteous and cooperative.
You may use the gardens and there is a playground for the children.
Our kids liked this accommodation best of our whole trip round Eastern USA.

We had a terrific time staying at the Stone Haus Farm B&B. My wife and I traveled to Lancaster to visit Hershey Park and to explore Lancaster country with our children aged 8 and 10. The B&B is in a great location - it is very convenient to both Hershey Park and the core part of Lancaster county, so if you're trying to do both of those things on a visit to the area it is a lot more convenient than places located to the east of Lancaster (Bird in Hand, Intercourse). The B&B is quite nice - the rooms are spacious and clean, and our family of four was very comfortable in a room with a queen and 2 double beds. We were in a room with a private bath which was good for us, but some of the other rooms had shared baths. The home was well kept and clean, and Angie and Marv were wonderful hosts - very friendly and helpful in recommending things to do in the area. They put us in touch with a local Amish family who hosted us for dinner one night, which was quite and experience. The kids (and the parents) loved being on a farm, and especially the hay rides out in the fields int he morning, as well as the rope swing in the barn. The kids were excited to get up in the mornings to play with the kittens and collect the freshly laid eggs from the henhouse, and to feed the goats. They really got a bit of a farm experience while we stayed there. The B&B is somewhat close to a busy road so you could hear some traffic, but not so much that it was annoying. The breakfasts in the morning were plentiful and delicious. This is a great choice if you have kids and are looking to get a taste of a farm experience in a convenient location. We would stay there again.

On the positive side, the kids really enjoyed the animals and the hosts were very nice. The house is on a noisy road, and the area is not particulary attractive. The room and bath were not good for my claustrophobic husband. The breakfast was good, nothing special.

We've stayed in dozens of B&B's, and though it was not awful, we won't be back.

We visited the Lancaster area recently, and spent one night at this comfortable and cozy working farm B&B. Our party of 12 stayed on the third floor, which had three bedrooms, 1 ½ bath, a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, and a games/toy section that the kids enjoyed. Very kid-friendly place with playground, trikes, basketball. The highlight of our stay was the hayride to a covered bridge. The kids also loved the morning activities: gathering eggs, feeding the lambs and the chickens. The breakfast was superb and bountiful - pancake, pastries, orange juice, cereals, fresh fruits, tea, coffee and the best ham loaf we have ever tasted. Most importantly, the hosts Merv and Angie went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. We will definitely return to this wonderful place.
