This was the third of three Hampton Inns we stayed at in Pennsylvania this trip and easily the most comfortable and best-managed of the three. It's interesting that there can be any quality variations at all in such a highly standardized chain, but this goes to show what a friendly front desk and the occasional extra amenity can do to improve the experience for guests. In this case, not only was the reception friendly but our room was provided with a more complete set of toiletries, the lobby was kept stocked with fresh-baked cookies in the evening, and the coffee was even hotter at breakfast than at the other Hamptons where we stayed (near Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, respectively). This Hampton occupies spacious and well-manicured grounds, complete with a small pond, and manages to remain quiet even though it overlooks the Pennsylvania Turnpike on one side. It's a convenient central "base" for the Pennsylvania "Dutch" country to the east and for Hershey and Harrisburg to the west. Manheim, just to the south, is a historic if sleepy little town.

Thank you for calling us the most comfortable and best managed Hampton Inn that you stayed at in Pennsylvania! I am very pleased to hear that our friendly front desk staff and extra in room amenities made all of the difference in your stay. We do indeed have freshly baked cookies and hot coffee waiting for you upon check in! The breakfast staff always has hot coffee ready for you when you wake up too! You pointed out that our grounds are well manicured and we take a lot of pride in that. The pond and walking trail are a very peaceful way to unwind and relax after a long drive in the car, or a busy day of sightseeing! Yes, Amish country and Hershey are only a short drive from us. Even though we are located near the Pennsylvania turnpike, you will not hear traffic from most of our rooms. You can always request a room away from the highway if necessary. Your review is appreciated, and we look forward to serving you again in the near future.

Overall this hotel is reasonable in price, very clean, with friendly staff. hut something very strange happened. We came as a late check in. I called ahead to let them know and they said everything was ok. When we got there though, they told me I didnt have a reservation (made months in advance) and they were completely full. I showed them the confirmation paper and they looked around on the computer for about 15 minutes then said they found me. Annoying with two sleeping children but oh well things happen right? But then we got our room key and headed to the room. The door unlocked and there was an open suitcase on the bed and the shower running in the bathroom. We quickly closed tue door and went to the desk. Wrong room they gave us! It ended up working out but thank goodness we didnt open a honeymoon suite! Crazy!

We appreciate your compliments of our clean hotel, friendly staff and reasonable rates! Our guests safety and privacy is very important to us. You addressed a concern that occured about a year ago, (July 2012) and since then we have had a lot of changes with policies and procedures regarding our guests safety and privacy. I do apologize about this experience and we hope that you come back and visit us again so that we can better serve you. Thank you for the review.

Well located near turnpike exit. Great breakfast in morning. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Weather too cool to use pool but looked fine. Well located to see Renaissance Fair, golf in the area, or visit the nearby towns.

Thank you for calling us a fine place to stay! You pointed out the convenience of our location, great breakfast, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. We like to focus on what really matters to our guests, and it sounds like we were able to prove that to you. If the weather is on the chilly side, keep in mind that our outdoor pool is heated and usually set at 82 degrees. Hopefully you will keep us in mind next time you pass through our area. Thank you for the review!

I had a four-day weekend coming up—Memorial Day—and I needed a vacation. I checked for the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire and found that they had a Flavor Fest over the weekend. Well, anything at the Renaissance Faire means the Hampton Inn in Manheim. The Hampton is only two minutes from the Lebanon-Lancaster exit on the Pennsylvania Turnpike [you cannot hear any turnpike traffic from the Hampton Inn]. The Renaissance Faire is directly across from the Hampton Inn. We have stayed at the Hampton Inn several times, and this time was no different—excellent. We booked later than we should have, and asked for a non-smoking suite; they did not have one, so they made a smoking suite into a non-smoking suite for us.

We arrived at the Inn about 10 minutes before check-in, but the front desk called the housekeeper to see if our room was ready—it was. They asked that we check out the suite immediately, so they could make arrangements for us if it were not suitable. It was fresh and clean. The Inn is clean—one of the cleanest that I have been in; it was also in good repair, something that I do not see often anymore. I have a slight handicap, and the handicap parking is extremely convenient, as is the large 15-foot high covered registration parking area. The suite was huge. The bedroom dwarfed the king-size bed; the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The other room was large also, with desk and chair, TV, sofa, chair, and kitchenette (sink, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, etc.). Everything looked and smelled clean. The bathroom was nice—it had a tub/shower with the shower curtain rod arcing away from the tub (making it non-claustrophobic even for a shower for two).

We were running late one day and did not leave the suite until after the housekeepers would have cleaned our room. The woman came back late in the afternoon to check on us and left us a full set of bathroom items—washcloths, hand towels, bath towels, bath mat, shampoo, conditioner, etc. The housekeeping staff was as nice as the front-desk staff. I almost forgot about the kitchen staff. The Inn provides a self-service breakfast from 0600 to 1000. There is so much food, and so many choices. In the afternoon, guests will find freshly-baked cookies waiting for them in the lobby. After breakfast, the breakfast area is available for people to sit and read. The Inn has a pool, exercise spa, and meeting rooms.

In addition to the facilities at the Inn, it is close to dining to the north and south (Manheim) and even to the east (Lititz). The Inn is on the edge of Lancaster’s Amish country, so it will not take long to drive to see the Amish and Mennonite farms, or to wildlife areas such as the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area (not sure of the name, but it is a beautiful place) and the wolf sanctuary in Lititz. I was stunned by the closeness of the Inn to the Dutch Apple Theater (a dinner theater) where we saw a solid performance of ‘Cats’. The Inn is the place to stay if you want to do day trips or recover from all the walking and eating at the Renaissance Faire (or one of the other events on its grounds).

Our suite was on the fourth floor at the end; from there we could look out the window onto the Inn’s extremely large lawn, which is bordered by forest. Across the highway, is the Renaissance Faire; the Inn’s curving driveway stops at the light directly across from the Faire’s entry. The bottom line is that the Hampton Inn Manheim is convenient to the turnpike, food, wildlife, scenery, and entertainment, and is clean because the staff really cares about its guests.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet. The views from the upper floors are good. All the rooms are clean and in...

Thank you for the beautifully detailed review of your experience at our hotel! Your compliments of our staff's helpfulness in making your stay enjoyable really means alot to us. I am so very pleased that our front desk agents and housekeepers were able to take care of all of your needs throughout your stay to make you feel right at home! As you mentioned, we are located in the northern part of Lancaster County within a short drive of the dinner theatres, Amish attractions, recreational parks, and wildlife sanctuaries. We are indeed directly across the street (walking distance) from the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Our hotel, as you pointed out, is very clean and that is something that we take a lot of pride in. You are absolutely right in the closing of your review.....we DO care about our guests and I am happy that it shows! Thanks again for the review and we certainly hope to see you again!

My wife and I stayed at this Hampton Inn on May 25 for the PA Flavor Fest. A truly great property. I made reservations at this hotel months in advance, knowing it gets booked solid for this weekend. We had a great room on the forth floor. A large room with lots of space. A nice size bathroom. The room was neat and the beds comfortable. They had a large breakfast area with an outside patio. Very nice grounds with a pond to walk around. The front desk was very friendly and we had a very easy check-in. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in this area. The Pa Ren/fair is right across the street.

Room Tip: If you are going to the PA Ren-Fair. This hotel is right across the street.

You pointed out some great assets of our property such as the room setup, newly designed breakfast serving area, and exterior grounds. The walking trail overlooking our pond is definitely a peaceful way to unwind and relax after a busy day of traveling or sightseeing. You shared a great tip to book your reservation in advance, especially when there are events such as the FlavorFest taking place at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire across the street. Our staff really takes a lot of pride in what they do, and we can't wait to serve you again in the near future. Please come back again!

Decided to take last minute trip to Hershey park and stayed in Hampton Inn in Manheim. It is convenient and about 25 minutes away. Hotel is very clean and large room was very accommodating especially since there a nice size refrigerator in the room. The only negative comment is that we were using a crib and the sofa bed for the kids and they did not provide the bedding. I had to go down to the front desk and ask for these items. The desk clerk was very nice and immediately gave me the items I needed. I definitely stay in this hotel again since it was clean and a very reasonable price.

There's nothing "sweeter" than a last minute getaway, especially to Hershey, "The sweetest place on Earth!" You are absolutely correct that we are a nice and easy drive, located only 25 minutes away. We appreciate your compliments of our clean hotel and accomodating staff! When booking a room with a sofa bed, we keep the blankets and extra pillows in the dresser drawer across from the bed. Hopefully, our front desk let you know that, but it sounds like they were able to quickly resolve the request and get you what you needed. On a side note...if you like Hershey chocolate, you can stop down at the front desk anytime, as we always have lots of Hershey bars on hand to put a smile on your face! Often you will see our breakfast staff handing them out during breakfast time. Thank you for taking the time to tell others about your stay at the Hampton Inn Manheim!

Thank you for recognizing and complimenting the cleanliness of our hotel. That is something that we take a lot of pride in. As we are a Hampton Inn, we offer a hot deluxe complimentary breakfast bar each and every day. Although we do not have a restaurant onsite, we offer detailed recommendations and directions for you at the Front Desk for all of the local restaurants. We have both casual and fine dining suggestions. If there is ever a concern with noise levels, please call the front desk so that we can address and correct the situation appropriately. Upon booking your reservation, you will notice that we offer many room types, which include smoking and non smoking. If a desired room type is not available, we try to meet every request as best as we can. Sometimes, we can not due to being sold out almost every night. If our parking lot appears to be empty, it is usually because the guaranteed reservations have not arrived. We try our best to make every guest feel comfortable with their surroundings, and if we can not meet your expectations, we stand by our 100% Hampton Satisfaction Guarantee. We have a Guest Service Agent on duty 24 hours, and I do apologize that there was not an agent present upon your departure. You will notice that we have a floating front desk, which allows our agents to briefly step away to assist a guest in the lobby with directions or a special request. I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to be able to better serve you in the near future. Thank you for the review and your feedback.
