Dinner on the deck was FANTASTIC! We were a table of four. We had several apps (gazpacho, tuna, bruchetta) and two of us had the grouper - outstanding! My husband had the filet and crab cake and didn't leave a bite. He said he could cut the filet with a fork! Our server was pleasant and very competent and listening to the Sounds of Sinatra (Paul Martone does as amazing Sinatra!) was the cherry on top!

There were 4 wedding blocks the weekend we were there and this hotel did not skip a beat. Rooms were great, the block rate was excellent, staff is very helpful and friendly, parking is ample. After-party in the Fox and Hound as well as the lounge area was perfect. Thanks to the great staff for their work and pleasant attitudes. Pillows and beds are extremely comfortable and linens/towels nice, too.

Room Tip: If anyone in the party has difficulty walking distances, ask the front desk to assign a room close t...

We recently stayed at the Desmond to attend a wedding reception there. Everything was perfect.

From the people at the front desk to the servers at the reception, it was friendly and professional.

The food was great and the room clean and large. The four poster bed with canopy was quite cute.

My wife and I got the "Romance Package" for a night away from the kids for our anniversary.
The room itself was okay. The bathroom was less favorable with one of the worst showers I have ever had in a hotel. The water just sort of dribbled out of the showerhead. I don't know how many people feel about this but it usually a make or break for me in a hotel. The bed was fine.

The real issue we had over the course of our stay was really mostly not an issue with the hotel itself but the other guests. Apparently we were sharing our floor with some travelling lacrosse team made of 15-16 year old boys and they were EVERYWHERE during our stay.

When we checked in, they were playing poker in the lobby and the concierge had to pause while talking to us twice because we wouldn't have been able to hear him over the yelling. Nothing was done to make the group quiet or calm down.

After going to our room and unpacking, we decided to relax with a swim/hot tub session before dinner. When we got down there, there were 3 more teenaged boys in the hot tub. That was fine. They were guests and had every right to use the hot tub as well. It was the fatc that after an hour of waiting, they still were in there, and then they were joined by about 8-10 of their friends. Then we realized that half of them were spitting into cups (chewing tobacco). We were thoroughly grossed out and decided to forgo the hot tub, which was disappointing. THEN, some older gentleman came in who seemed to be some sort of lifeguard (?). He was definitely a staff member because he called down a maintenance man to make the hot tub hotter for the dozen teen boys piled into it. He never did anything about the dipping so I guess that's normal behavior for this hotel. I also saw a man spitting into a cup at the brunch the next morning (while having a beer cleverly hidden STILL IN THE CAN but stuck into a paper cup, classy) so...

To top it all off, it seemed some of the kids were in the room across from us. We had a good laugh when we noticed the "10 PM Silence Curfew" signs in the hallway the next morning.

The brunch\Fox and Hound IS pretty great though.

So, all in all, wouldn't make this my first choice the next time we decided to get away for a night.
Not entirely the hotels fault, but they could have taken the non-lacrosse playing guests stays into consideration when dealing (or not dealing, in this case) with the raucous young male guests.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying with us last weekend. I was here the entire weekend and it was certainly very busy. I will correct the shower immediately, thanks for letting me know. We most certainly don't want you to take a substandard shower. In the future please feel free to talk to any one of my team, they will react quickly to any concern you may have.

We really tried hard to arrange the different guests accordingly, we were at 100% capacity and it was difficult to do so. We consistently engage with all of our clients no matter their purpose of travel and set an expectation of respect for fellow travelers. I can see from your profile you are local, please feel free to stop by the hotel and ask for me, I am happy to buy you a beer.

Sincerely,
Michael Chain

Attended a two-day workshop here in June, stayed two nights. While the hotel offered some advantages (very good breakfast and snacks for attendees in the conference center, no need to commute from hotel to workshop, walking trail adjacent to hotel), it also seemed wanting in some areas. Refrigerators only available on request (note: no freezer compartment in the one placed in our room), very far from Philly attractions, small bathroom with cluttered surfaces. Conference room assigned to our group seemed small relative to group size, and some chairs we sat in were broken. Beds seemed too soft. Not the worst hotel experience, but not great relative to other similar venues.

I would recommend this hotel for its beautiful location and landscaping.
The furniture is the room was older and outdated, not just the decor. There used to be a refrigerator in the room but ours was missing.
The staff was friendly.

We stayed at the Desmond after taking the QVC Studio Tour. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. We grabbed a drink in the Fox and the Hound they had a good variety of beers to offer. The Sunday brunch in the Hunt Room was classic and had a wide variety of food. We would totally stay here again if we're in the area.
