We've eaten here on several occasions (birthdays, etc.). The restaurant is in a nice setting, in an old home at the intersection of two popular roads. Inside the appearance is classy rustic. Romantic lighting and medium wood tones. The food is better fare than many surrounding places and the portions are adequate. Steaks are made to order and juicy. Seafood is moderately fresh, but can be quite pricey. Overall, the place meets standards for ambience, service, quality and flavor.

Hubby and I visited early Saturday night. We made it in time for happy hour at 5 PM. Drink prices reduced and specials at the bar, as well as three special appetizers at that time. Nice upscale taste and feeling, but limited menu. That's okay though, because so far what they produced for us, on (this our second visit) was delicious.
Husband enjoys the tuna nicoise salad. This visit, his salad had "stale older tuna" used in it. He said he should've said something but didn't. Check it out next time you order it. I had chicken piccata which was very tasty and a very large portion, a little on the salty side.

The staff was friendly and professional. TV was big at the bar area, and very casual there, but the rest is cozy, but dark. All good so far, will try again soon.

I'm mystified by a couple of the negative reviews of Stoned Crab. My wife and I dine there once or twice a year for birthdays or anniversaries, and we've never once had a meal that fell short of our expectations.

Our recent visit on January 24 was typical: warm and friendly atmosphere (on a very cold night), terrific food (we're huge fans of the lobster bisque), and a waitress who was articulate, knowledgeable, helpful, and highly professional.

We've lived in the Lehigh Valley for 16 years, and although we don't dine out all that often, we never return to a restaurant that disappoints us. The highest compliment I can give the Stoned Crab is repeat business.

We received a gift card for the Stoned Crab a year ago and decided to use it to take our elderly father out to dinner. We each got the early bird special, $12.95 including two sides. My father-in-law and I both got the stuffed shrimp and my husband got the chicken marsala.

A great first impression was made when we got warm bread with delicious hot pepper and butter dipping sauce. Then an ice cold and rather large salad came with their house dressing. Our meals were served and, although the three tiny shrimp with crab on top were dwarfed by the large plate, it was rather tasty and we were reminded it was only $12.95. The garlic mashed potatoes were homemade with big chunks of potato. Steamed broccoli was also served and could have been cooked just a minute less, but it was totally acceptable.

It was our first time there and we would definitely go back.

I have ate at Stoned Crab a few times, and each time food was good, but not outstanding. None the less, decided to go back as it was a very snowy Saturday night, and it was close. We arrived and parking lot was almost empty, snow was keeping many people away. Hostess took us upstairs to a completely empty dining room, and proceeded to seat the six of us at a five person table. We expressed that we felt is was too small, and she immediately gave us a little attitude. She explained the larger table was reserved, and did not seem interested in putting together two tables. Eventually, she seated us at the larger table. We ordered the drinks, and asked about a kids menu. She explained they have items, but no printed menu, but waitress would be able to detail. Waitress arrived, and she couldn’t remember what was all on kids menu, and didn’t seem to want to find out. Overall, not a friendly server. Not necessarily rude, but certainly not a welcoming attitude. We ordered a few appetizers, the scallops and calamari, and both were very good. For the meals, had the risotto with monk fish, Delmonico steak, two burgers, and two kids meals of noodles. Overall, the food was very good, with the exception of the kids meals. They were over-cooked noodles, and very little taste.

Would I go back? Would not be my first choice, but may try again if looking for some place close. This could be good restaurant, as the food again was very good, but the staff needs to improve.
