Bear Creek is definitely first class all the way. The hotel room, the food and the whole facility are just great. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. Also..... the spa is great too! We stayed over for one night, but we will defiitely be back!

I wanted to take kids to Dorney Park. Decided to make a weekend of the trip & wanted a nicer hotel than what was immediately outside of the park. Bear Creek was running a package including park tickets & breakfast for two & we were able to buy tickets/breakfast for reasonable cost. Staff friendly, had pool to ourselves, rooms nicely appointed & very clean. Pretty lounge areas-would like to back in winter for tubing/skiing!

I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. We offer similar mid-week packages at great values during the winter as well. I hope you are able to take advantage of them and join us for some fun on the slopes.
Thanks!

We've stayed here twice (two nights each time) for biking events. Front desk is nice although girls seem more interested in talking to each other than really connecting with customers. Morning food service can be a problem as cyclists have to be up and out really early and there are no food options before 7a. Seems like a minor thing but if you're going to race all day would be nice to have options.
Facilities are nice overall. Management is very accommodating allowing cyclists to bring their bikes to the rooms. But watch out-- rooms could start looking worn with bikes in summer and skis in winter.
Also there are a lot of weddings here and they really could use security in the halls after midnight. The girls in the hall were clearly drunk and noisy-- they were squealing in the hall for a good half hour and no one came to shush them or send them to their rooms. I'm sure I've been as obnoxious but the presence of some security would definitely discourage them from partying in the hall.
Finally, I will note the location is really difficult to deal with. It's so far away from anything that you are at mercy of the resort for even a bottle of water. If I come back I'd definitely bring my supplies up-- water, juice, fruit, cereal-- and maybe make the trek down to Trexlertown for one pizza dinner.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I appreciate your continued visitation and we will take your comments into consideration when planning food and beverage hours during early events in the future.
The rooms do get used heavily throughout the year and we take great pride in keeping them in excellent condition. Our maintenance and housekeeping teams work very hard to make the rooms look new for every guest.
Thanks again!

Stayed at this hotel for four nights in the off season (it's really a ski resort, with the slopes right on property). I was told that they just held three weddings the day before our arrival. Because it's not ski season, two of the four restaurants were closed. Did not use the provided gym facilities (which looked modern) or wifi.

PROS: Overall, the service was ALWAYS friendly and swift - from the front desk to the restaurants to the spa. Kudos on excellent customer service.

Lobby/Grounds - Hotel is gorgeous, rustic, tastefully decorated throughout. Two lobby areas, both with gas fireplaces, plenty of seating (rocking chairs, couches, etc.). Gorgeous outdoor deck with seating and view of the slopes. Gift shop stocks clothing, board games, food, etc. Free newspapers daily. Free Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. Free coffee, tea and Swiss Miss hot chocolate. Business center on 2nd floor had two desktop computers for free use. The grounds were well cared for - we didn't get to use the walking trails or the paddle boats or any of the other activities since it rained a lot.

Pool - Plenty of towels provided, large outdoor pool suitable for lap swimming. Lots of loungers and tables/chairs. Outdoor jacuzzi is also quite large and has a small separate deck with a few loungers. I did not go to the indoor pool.

Room - Spacious and beautiful. Philosophy toiletries, digital safe, hairdryer, coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, very large flat screen TV. Plenty of fluffy towels.

SPA - Water, Chex Mix and Pepperidge Farm cookies available in the lounge. Robes and slippers and a complimentary glass of wine. Spa shower had rain shower head. Steam room. Very roomy treatment rooms. Massages were great.

TRAILS END CAFE - Food was good, menu variety for breakfast and lunch was good. Warning about "Italian Night" - a small entree will easily be enough food for three people!!!!

THE GRILLE - Excellent food - from the complimentary warm rolls and creamy butter, to the crisp and fresh salads, to the sea salt on the outside of the baked potato to the classic spaghetti with tomato, basil and garlic sauce. Delicious!

CONS: VERY little to complain about - the only real complaint was their definition of a room with a view of the woods, which was more cement than trees. We paid for a standard King suite "non slope side", which on the phone I was told came with a view of the woods. (See picture attached of what they consider the woods.) The days we were there, I was told the hotel was at about 15% capacity. Didn't want to move rooms since we'd had a long drive and just wanted to settle in, but with the hotel being so empty, they could have at least offered upon check in to change/upgrade the view to a slope side room.

Nitpicky things: No mens' interest magazines in the spa lounge, very little counter space in the bathroom of the room, the layout of the hotel is such that different elevators go to different floors of the hotels, so you'll be going back and forth across the length of the hotel to get to the restaurants, spa, etc., the shower doors as installed in the ladies locker room at the spa do not line up properly so they do not lock.

I was trying to enjoy the clean mountain air, but someone was smoking on their balcony and I promptly informed a hotel employee, but I don't know if anything was done about it. Smoking is ONLY permitted in two outdoor areas - not indoors or even on guest balconies.

NOTE: The location of the hotel is remote, about a 30 minute drive to Allentown, PA. So if you're not on property in the off season doing their offered activities or eating at their restaurant or cafe, then you need to drive a ways if you want to eat someplace else, go see a movie, go to an outlet or a mall, etc.

Room Tip: Choose a slope side room!

My husband and I went for one night to relax by the pool and visit the spa. This is a well kept resort. The grounds are beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean. I gave it 4 stars for two reasons. First, while the pool area is nice, there is not enough seating or staff. The bar/food orders were very slow and there was no one clearing tables or getting rid of towels. There is no one skiing at this time, but there were several weddings. Hence, many people at the pool. The other reason is because we were roomed on the first floor. Because we were NOT wedding guests, it was kind of annoying to hear loud people/guests going back and forth the entire evening.

Our spa visit was very nice. It was one of the best massages I ever had. We also visited The Grille. It was good food...maybe a bit overpriced.

Thank you for your response and providing some feedback to help us improve. We have identified a few process changes that will enable us to provide better service at the outdoor pool and plan on implementing those this coming week.
The main corridor in the hotel can be a bit hectic during peak periods and we have asked that our Security Team be a bit more vigilant in requesting guests travelling that corridor are more considerate of other guests.
I hope you are able to return again in the future. If you do plan to return, I would suggest requesting a room on one of the upper floors to be in a more secluded part of the building. We honor rooming requests whenever possible.
Sincerely,
Mark Schroetel

The room was big. I was on the forth floor and it was quiet. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly.I had the breakfast buffet it was good, not extravagant. This resort has an outdoor pool (which was crowded) and an indoor pool. I did not visit the spa so can not comment. My stay was a summer stay so the grounds were green and very lush. The resort is very rustic. The stonework was beautiful. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: In the summer I would not take a room close to the pool area. It gets loud.

We really enjoyed our stay. The picturesque setting was something you'd expect to see in the movies. Overall experience was very enjoyable and we will likely be returning for another stay during their peak season.

Pros

First Impression: Manicured landscaping, modern amenities and very welcoming environment were the first things that stood out to me. We were greeted and accommodated immediately. The front desk was very welcoming and flexible. They allowed us to upgrade our room, even after having checked into the prior room.

Location: Bear Creek hosts a wide variety of events, including major ski tournaments during the winter and a few off-season events such as the national mountain biking tournament during the summer. The resort is located in neighboring Macungie, PA, which hosts fine dining, several winery tours and a few mom and pop style stores.

Room: The rooms are set up in a very contemporary style, with updated furniture, a fireplace and electronics. The furniture appears very high end, and gives the room a wintery and cozy feel to it. We first checked into a room with two queen size beds, but opted to upgrade to a king size with a fireplace for a meer $10 more. We highly recommend going with the king size if you traveling as a couple, but for family travel, the two queen is sufficient.

Customer Service: The wait staff and front desk clerks were very attentive to our needs. I needed help getting flowers for my wife for her birthday. Not only did the resort recommend a local florist, but also set up the hotel room with the floral decoration, whilst we were away, as to surprise my spouse.

Dining: They two dining locations the Trail End Cafe during the day, and The Grille at night. We found The Grille to be very expensive, but comparable to gourmet food. We ended up not eating there, due to the price and opted to eat out in Macungie. The Trail End Cafe has reasonably priced food and drinks and allows you to be seated with a few of the slopes.

Cons

Possible Issues: Given we stayed during the summer, we didn't experience this issue. But while checking in, we were required sign agreements to quiet hours and disruptive behavior. We expect this is likely due to the attracted audience during the winter. This is something worth considering if you plan to travel to a quiet location for a weekend out as a couple.
