“Great Ambience, Expensive Mediocre Food”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

We've been going to the Bear Creek Grille since it opened a few years ago. It has a simply wonderful bar/restaurant area....fireplaces, great views, plenty of room, and nice well-done decor. That's the good side. On the other hand, the food there is simply not that good, and you have to pay quite a hefty price for it. They have a very small menu...especially limited on sandwich fare, which is a drag for a place selling itself as a destination for the pub-type crowd. Mixed drinks are good, and they have a nice selection of beer.
Overall, this place needs a do-over in terms of fare. They need a more expansive menu and try not to hose you so much on prices. If the food was better and/or cheaper, this would be our favorite place to go. The weird thing is that we have had their catered food on multiple occasions and it has been outstanding!
For now (and this is true for us and our friends) we go for the great location, ambience and drinks...and we tolerate the food. We're really really hoping they see some of these not-so good reviews and make some changes.

“So Sad”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

I'm so sad to say that I do not like this place. Let me start by saying that I really like the decor. The service is wonderful. But it stops there. We ate dinner at the restaurant last night. We had tried it before and found the food average and the prices unreasonably astoundingly high. We decided to give it one more try and... no change.

There weren't many selections and a vegetarian like me was really out of luck. I ordered the spaghetti puttanesca - meatless. At around $20, that's a pretty hefty dish. It came with an extremely ordinary salad - lettuce topped with cucumbers and tomatoes. The main dish was spaghetti, swimming in oil, with lots of whole olives and heirloom tomatoes rolling around the outside - and a little parmesan cheese. That's it. Very sad. (The tomatoes were delicious, but it stops there). My companion had a tuna dish which was around $30. I was told it was fine. We then ordered the vanilla bean cheesecake. At $6.95, the price was ok. But the cheesecake (while it looked wonderful) was only ok.

I think that's it. With average food and extraordinary prices, we won't try again unless there's some change. So sad.

“Good time in any season”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

The Grille is a good spot in any season. During ski season it's a great après ski stop. The beer selection is ok and some of the appetizers are good. It would be nice to have more of an appetizer selection. The summer Music Under the Stars occasions are great. The bands are good and it's awesome to eat outside while being entertained. The prices are a little high but the food is usually very tasty.

“Good food and beer”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

Great place to grab some good food. Prices are a little on the high side, but the location is beautiful. The beer selection is one of the best in the area.

“Pool side and restaurant”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

The food was exceptionally tasty at the grill by the pool as well as the restaurant located on the bottom level. We were all delighted by each meal we oredered. We were also pleasantly surprised by the service where our meals were brought out by the staff to our lounges by the outdoor pool.
