We've gone The Black Bass many
times for brunch and dinner over the years but today's brunch was the best yet! My had the bagel & lox to start, huevos rancheros and
berry crisp. I had the liver and salmon pate, shrimp & grits and an outstanding banana/coconut bread pudding. Add glasses of champagne and coffee plus outstanding service and you can't
beat it! If you are in the area DO NOT miss this lovely hotel overlooking the Delaware. You will not be sorry!

We recently spent a weekend at the Black Bass Hotel. From check in to check out and everything in between it was perfect! We had two rooms as our son and daughter in law joined us. We had the Major Fry and Tinsman rooms. Both had balconies overlooking the Delaware River. Both rooms were of ample size with nice large bathrooms. The rooms were very clean with nice comfortable queen beds. The hotel has two great bar/pub areas and one was nicer than the other. The bar on the lower level is so quaint. It looks like George himself may have just been there. Now for the Restaurant ..... OMG ..... all of our meals were delicious. We eat out quite frequently and to be most honest there were the best meals we have had in some time. Breakfast is included with the room price and is not to be missed. Every staff member we met was most friendly and professional at the same time.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the river.

What an awesome time! My wife and I needed to get away for a bit. So we came here for the 2 year anniversary of our engagement! What an incredible time! We stayed in the Baxter suite which is pet friendly. So of course we brought our dog. From the minute we registered we knew we were going to have fun. The Baxter Suite has its own fenced in area. We could play in that area with our dog without a leash. The room itself was comfortable and inviting. We had a nice sunroom. The room also had a very spacious bathroom. We had an excellent dinner and breakfast the next day. The breakfast was included with our stay we highly recommend you stay here. You will not regret it.

I really didn't know what to expect on my first visit to this historic Inn & Hotel, but was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. From staff, to food, to the accommodations, everything was first class and I will most certainly visit again. You never know what to expect when visiting an old historic Inn such as this, but the owners have done an exceptional job of upgrading the Inn while maintaining its original atmosphere. Many times you have to sacrifice some creature comforts to enjoy such an old historic inn but the accommodations have all been updated including beautiful, spacious bathrooms, while the rest of the hotel appears exactly like it was over a hundred years ago.. The food was outstanding. Whether dining in the main restaurant or one of the two bars, the hotel staff and food was up to a 5 star rating. Speaking of staff, Billy does an outstanding job of exceeding guest’s expectations... I enjoyed both the sliders and scallops at the bar and recommend you try them ..Great for a weekend getaway......

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony especially for a warmer weather visit. If it is a special occasion ask for a room overlooking the river.

First let me start off by saying we have been coming here for years. We both love historic hotels especially those that have been brought into the new with still keeping with much of the charm of the old history. The location is amazing. We love the staff, shout out to Billy (one of the managers) Who does everything. Grant is the general manger and he does a great job and adds humor to the place. The wait staff deserves 5 stars for professionalism, warm hearted personality, and a great knowledge of the menu. They are all hustlers here. I don't think we have ever seen a slacker at this hotel. The house keeping staff should be commended as well. The place is impeccable. We usually get our favorite room, the River Suite with a private balcony that views the river. The decor is amazing with high end furnishings. Our dining experience is always a great one with the spectacular view of the river and pedestrian bridge that goes over to Bulls Island. This trip we ate outside on the deck because the weather was great and they have great heaters if you do get cold. Drinks are always great too. We are already planning our next trip back.
