“Stay Away!”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

We waited about 45 mins for dinner to come out, asked the waiter a couple times to check on the food etc... When we asked the owner if she could check on our food she freaked out. "What you want me to do, kill the cook?" She started screaming to the point it felt like a bad Seinfeld episode. She continued on like a lunatic. Scared our kids, screaming across the restaurant to the cook and told us we should go to a fast food restaurant, so we did!

We spend our winters 5 minutes away from this place and wound never, ever go back.

“Food ok, service terrible, owner rude!”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

We dined at the Teahouse on a Friday night. We had a reservation but the owner was clearly confused about it when we arrived. Apparent staff call outs led to owner/hostess to be working behind the sushi bar. Once finally seated, it took forever to just get drinks and order food. Food was very slow to come out. When i told Suzie we were losing patience, she was rude and inappropriate. The teriyaki dishes were tasty but the sushi was small and overpriced.

“It was just OK”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

I thought this place was just OK. The service was good but the food was a little too pricey in my opinion. The first piece of Dragon Roll that I ate had some bones in it. The Chicken fried rice was good but I didn't see alot of chicken in it. About $11

It was about 17-23 minutes from Blakeslee,PA. So it just wasn't worth it in my opinion.

“Fresh sushi in the mountains, yes!”
Reviewed February 15, 2012

Suzy gets fresh fish weekly from NYC. We've gotten sushi & sashimi there on numerous occasions, and it's always good. Take out too!

“Used to like this”
Reviewed February 2, 2012

I liked being able to enjoy the Japanese cuisine here, but lately it's gotten sloppy. Last time I ordered sashimi there, some of the pieces had bone and scale on the edge of them, and there was a local college kid trying to be a sushi chef, and failing miserably.

The other dishes were OK - we also had tempura (OK) and teriaki (OK). Only white rice, no brown. And no specials here. Regular menu, full price at all hours.
