“Out of the way but Out of this world!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2009

Carman's Old Fashioned Ice Cream is tucked out of the way on main street in Loganville, PA but is well worth the trip. Carman's is located in a small out building in an alley behind a house on Main Street. The ice cream is made and packaged right there. After you park in the alley, you walk in the front door of the little outbuilding and are immediately greeted. The ice cream is prepackaged in cups, pints, quarts, half-gallons, gallons and five gallon containers. You place your order and it is immediately pulled from the freezer and handed to you. No waiting for it to be scooped out. Carman's ice cream is among the best I have ever had. There are probably ten or more flavors to choose from. I chose the chocolate peanut butter and it was fantastic. Others in my party had chocolate and coffee ice cream and they found it to be equally as amazing. I ordered a cup but was sorry that I did not order the pint. A cup of Carman's ice cream is simply not enough. A cup was $1 and a pint was $1.85. Six of us got our fill of ice cream for $10. The value is outstanding.

We went there in August and sat on some benches under a tree on the lawn next to Carman's. It was like enjoying ice cream years ago in my grandmother's back yard. There is no indoor seating, so if yo go when it is cold or inclement weather, you will have to sit in your car. Additionally, Carman's is all about the ice cream, they serve nothing else. So, have lunch or dinner before you arrive or have ice cream for your meal!

Carman's is only 5 minutes off of Interstate 83 south of York. It is well worth getting off the interstate and going to Carman's if you are in the area!
