My husband and I stayed here for one night -- our first overnight away from our daughter, who's two. I'm so glad we chose Speedwell Forge Bed & Breakfast!
The house has been immaculately restored and updated in many ways while retaining the period charm and grandeur of the property. The common rooms are lovely, inviting and comfortable. We stayed in Kathryn's Room, which as noted by the previous reviewer was simply terrific for a romantic getaway! The bed was superbly plush and cozy, and the bathroom was an unbelievable treat with a tile floor heated from beneath and a beautiful glassed-in corner shower. Can we talk about the tub? I am a girl who likes a proper soak and the tub in Kathryn's room was one of the largest and most pleasant I have ever enjoyed.
The breakfast was delicious, and Gregg and Dawn are great conversationalists and born innkeepers. Enjoy the "Journal" section of their website before you go!
