This was one of the most memorable trips of my lifetime. My husband, a dear friend and I had a very special tour of the wolf sanctuary on the same property as the Speedwell Forge B&B and then we spent the night in immaculately clean and beautiful rooms in a very special, historic Lodge. We could not have asked for anything better. It was easy to see that this home (and it is the home of the innkeepers) has been treated with love and respect. The historic restoration demonstrates nothing but master craftsmanship and extreme good taste from the building materials and details to the choice of furnishings and linens. We loved the special showers, the lovely wide windowsills, the gorgeous old floors that are perfectly maintained and the welcoming library and sitting room. Dawn and Darrin are lovely people with whom we were immediately comfortable. Our many questions were answered in detail and with great patience. Dawn made and served a delicious and healthy three-course breakfast. It is so nice that guests from the cottages that are separate from the Lodge are welcome to enjoy breakfast in the Lodge if they so choose. That gave us the opportunity to get to know other guests who were sharing this amazing experience. We were able to spend just one night but know it will be the first of many to come.
