On the summer afternoon when we toured the Lititz Museum's Johannes Mueller house and shop, our docent was terrific. Lovely to have a personable life-long Lititz resident as guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about the Mueller House and shop, as well as the period of history portrayed. Our costumed guide interacted with us and spent time explaining and discussing what interested us. At her recommendation we also looked at some of the unique items in the adjacent museum section. We live in the Lancaster area, so will recommend the museum to friends and
visitors.

This was my first visit here, with friends. They are very friendly and the tour, which lasted about 40 minutes is interesting. The guide was knowledgeable about the house and its history. They have a very nice gift shop too. They do offer memberships for those in the local area. Well worth a trip if you are in Lititz. There are stairs to the second floor - it's not really for those in wheelchairs. They do take school age kids through the house all the time so the guides are able to keep children interested, too.

The friendly volunteers were delighted to have visitors and share their small but charming museum. If you wish you can have a docent take you on a tour of a Moravian home for a small fee. We were delighted with the pictures and artifacts of days gone by in this lovely little town. My favorite thing was the pictures of the Cigar Factory!

Early Saturday morning Dick gave my 2 sisters and myself a personal tour of the museum and detailed history of the town of Lititz, from it's origination to the time the English were permitted to inhabit the town. There are two beautiful tall clocks in the museum that have very detailed inlay work. I think one clock has 35000 pieces and the other 50000 very small pieces in intricate geometric designs. We missed the second Friday tour, which is free and more detailed including another building that is usually closed to the public. Looking forward to my next visit.

Well worth the time if you want to understand what Lititz is about. We opted for the tour of the Johannes Mueller house, which is adjacent to the Lititz Historical Foundation building. Paul, our guide for the house tour clad in 18th century clothing, was very eager to share his knowledge of local history and it made the experience more enjoyable.

One of the most interesting items in the foundation's museum was the wood parquet grandfather clock made from 50,000 pieces of wood. It's an amazing piece of workmanship that I doubt you'll see too many other places.
