What a treat! This detailed reconstruction of a British outpost during the French and Indian War is a delight to the eyes and contains a wealth of information. We enjoyed roaming the installation and learning something new with every step. The official guidebook is detailed an informative. The museum could serve as a model to local or site specific history museums - I spent part of my career developing interpretive material for such museums and I know a good one which I see it. Give yourself plenty of time to absorb all that the site has to offer.
There are picnic tables outside the main building. The town of Lancaster looked inviting and we wish we had planned for a more extended visit - maybe an overnight stay.
