“A culinary treasure!”
Reviewed March 3, 2013 via mobile

Our ladies group selected Brasserie du Soliel for our February dinner. We could not have been more pleased. Each of us ordered different entrees and every one of us was completely thrilled with our selection. Service was excellent, portions were generous, prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was charming. The signature dessert - a strawberry and chocolate crepe - was the perfect finish. Halfway through our meal we unanimously decided our group would be returning soon. We would happily recommend this excellent restaurant to anyone who enjoys fine dining.

“Very relaxing,”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

I've relaxed and enjoyed the cuisine in this restaurant 6 times. Each times besides the food being expertly prepared, from appetizer through main course to desert. Wine, drinks everything couldn't be more perfettissimo, ( more perfect)! The restaurant is QUIET, you can hear your family or friends speak. Nice soft music. The service has been expert as well. I will return every time I'm within driving distance.

“One of the best”

We have lived in Ligonier 25 yrs. This historic bldg. has seen many restaurants come and go. FYI this restauraunt was just opened in the spring of 2102.They did have growing pains but it has setteled in and maintains a great menu.(
The crepes are HUGE ! Since we are residents,I will t
ell you any good restauraunt has an unusually long wait during lunch(especially in season).FYI,it does take an evening to experience the dinning,as everything is prepared fresh.A savvy diner will make 5pm reservations. You will eat by 6:pm.Otherwise(and I do mean a window of 30 minutes)you will be seated but there are people who have initally ordered and the waiting COULD be a 90 minute ordeal. It has great food and unique to the pasta&chops eateries, which are the norm. Will definitely go again, just around 5:pm.Casual lunches are just that.

“Excellent Once Again”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

Once you have a good experience with a new restaurant, you sort of expect to be disappointed the second time you visit. We just had to try this place again after the excellent dining experience we reported on last month. Although I was tempted to order the filet mignon again since it was so good last time, I opted instead for the lamb chops which were one of the evening specials. They served four double rib chops that were cooked as ordered. The chops came with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable. The meat was very tender and tasteful. Based on my last dining experience, my wife ordered the filet mignon. It was equally as good as our previous visit. We reserved a table right next to the fireplace - very romantic. Our server, Caryn, was very friendly and attentive. Their wine offerings were very limited, but we chose to bring our own bottle. The wine was served as if we purchased it there. This restaurant is quickly becoming a local favorite for us.

“C'est tellement agréable d'avoir la cuisine française à Ligonier!”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

It`s great to have a French Restaurant in Ligonier. It`s at least as good, if not better than, Pittsburgh`s Le Pommier. There is a welcoming fireplace on cool evenings and some french touches to the decor. The vegetables are spectacular (mediterranean style spinach that is out of this world, ratatouille available, potatoes with truffle-oil......) and the bavette de boeuf very good. I thought I liked duck, as like confit de canard, but did not like the main duck dish here at all - I'm probably just not an experienced duck-consumer. The menu is now fleshed out, not the original very limited choices. We had the most kind and pleasant waitress, who made our last visit delightful.
