Stayed at the Ramada for a business meeting recently. Have stayed here before and always found it quite comfortable. They are doing renovations and the rooms look very nice. They have a really nice staff, very friendly & always helpful. The restaurant was open for dinner, the food was great. Had a very enjoyable & relaxing stay, and the bedding was great. Will definitely go back, thinking of a summer trip to the local amusement park.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the Highland Games. Yes, the exterior is dated and the hallways need refurbished, but the room was very clean and large. Bathroom was small as in most older hotels. The staff was friendly and helpful and we would recommend it as a decent place to stay. The bar and restaurant were fair.
Walking in downtown Ligonier was great and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel were wonderful.

I would advise against this place. If you can stay somewhere then please go somewhere else. (felt ripped off)
1.) Room was OK
2.) Coffee maker was broken - the maker ended up spilling water all of the drawers and onto my papers.
3.) Internet service very poor. Had to log in a least 10 times in a matter of 3 hours because keep getting disconnect from the service. My room was on the second floor and it could not get a good connection.
4.) Left a new shirt in the place. Checked out and call back within 5 hours and the shirt was gone. No one ever saw it.
5.) Charge $1.50 for in room safe. Not expensive at all of course, but why charge for a safe when the rooms are $90 a night. They must know our there house keeping operates.
Overall a very unpleasent experience.
i will be back out there next year and I will not stay there. If you are a family I guess it is fine, but if you have work to do then go some where else.
It is apparently not very secure as well.

We stayed here for two nights and had a great time! The heated pool was a plus as our kids really wanted to swim and the weather was a bit chilly when we arrived. The room had a sofabed and room for a pak and play but had no table or chairs. Location was great and I would recommend eating breakfast at the little bakery that you can walk to. In fact, you can walk to everything (except Idlewild though it's just a short drive away). We got the Idlewild package and it worked out very well for us. Spent the following morning exploring the Fort Ligonier which was wonderful and educational. Bed was okay for me, but my husband did not like it and did not sleep well. Service was great. If going to Idlewild, I would stay there again.

The hotel is situated right in the lovely town of Ligonier, and is less than 5 minutes from Idlewild & Soakzone. They have free Wi-Fi and a decent little restaurant and a bar with very limited beer selections. Our room was pretty clean but very worn. The furniture and such showed its age. If you are there for Idlewild, you can overlook this sort of thing. TV channels are limited. Overall, this is an average hotel in a quaint town. They have an above average staff and they are a few minutes from one of the best family amusement parks in the world. I recommend the Ramada as a very good choice for families headed to the park, but go in with expectations set properly.

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Idlewild Park with our 2 young boys and the grandparents. Location is very convenient -- 5 minute drive to Idlewild and walking distance to the town square which was very cute (nice shops!). The outside and lobby areas of the hotel are dated and a bit dark but clean. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. We had 2 adjoining rooms close to the pool which was great for the kids. Service throughout the hotel was very accommodating, although the restaurant breakfast was a bit slow. We didn't buy the "park package" because we had discount coupons for the park. Overall, a good value, great location and a fun experience! We will definitely return!

Best thing about the Ramada Ligonier is the very friendly staff. Hotel is a basic place, is one other hotel in Ligonier (ABC Motel on Rt 30) that I don't know anything about, plus at least one B&B. I had a real small room that was clean, decent flat screen tv, good bed, bathroom was fine. Had an iron & board. Worst aspect was the room doors slam loudly, so when someone comes in after you've gone to sleep, they wake you up. I could also hear my neighbor talking and his tv through an inter-room door, so soundproofing wasn't at all good. I literally wore ear plugs to sleep each night. Oh, and though the restaurant was ok when I first arrived on the weekend, it was closed the whole week I was there, maybe because it was before Memorial Day. Decent restaurants in the area are Gino's Pizza across the street from Giant Eagle, the Darlington Inn near Idlewild, and Casa Chapala just north of the town center traffic circle. Is also a Subway there. Diamond Cafe on the traffic circle next to the church was great for breakfasts. Ramada's continental breakfast I didn't use - took one look and found the much better Diamond Cafe. So if you're going to Ligonier, bring your ear plugs and you'll be fine! :-)
