Clean rooms, comfy beds, quiet, good food and a welcoming manager made this 2 night stay lovely.

We stay at this Ramada every year when my family visits Idlewild Park, which is only a 3 minute drive from the hotel. The location is great; close to the park and within walking distance of the historic downtown Ligonier, Fort Ligonier and all the nice shops and restaurants. The hotel is a bit pricey, but when you're the only game in town and routinely sold out on summer weekends, I guess they can charge what they want.

Our main issue this year, however, is that we got a suite for our family (mom, dad, and 2 little kids). The room was great; just what we needed. However, some of the suites are located right outside the main entry way to the hotel, meaning that not only are the lights outside the window very bright all night, but the smoking area was just outside our room. There was a wedding party at the hotel that night, and we had a big group of drunken partiers hanging out on the benches and rocking chairs which are literally just outside the window on the same level. They were loud, and kept my wife and I up. And their smoke came in through our air conditioner on the wall. The lobby is also connected with this area, so I would have expected the hotel staff to keep people from loudly congregating there in the middle of the night, but they did not stop them. Even if they had kept them quiet, the smoke coming into the room was not acceptable.

On a positive note, the hotel has implemented a free breakfast in the restaurant, however it is pretty limited.

Room Tip: Avoid the suites that have windows overlooking the front entrance

Given that the Inn's location to the town square was in walking distance we choose this facility. Ligonier is a very nice / historic area that offers shops, eateries, entertainment and more. That was the only good thing about our weekend get-away.
The Ramada Inn has a dated interior (not historic, just old). We suffered through banging of a building door that failed to be repaired. When moved to another room we had issue after issue (i.e. faulty plumbing, ac did not work, no working TV remote, lighting with burned out bulbs and dated interior.) A manager was unavailable all three days of our stay to speak with concerning the issues with our lodging. I was offered a fifteen dollar discount...how insulting given the issues we had over our stay. Honestly, an apology would have been better than a fifteen dollar credit. I would not recomend the Ramada, Ligonier PA to anyone!

Decent enough given it's proximity to Idlewild Park, but not even close to living up to other Ramada's we have stayed at. The room wasn't ready on time, the walls seem awfully thin and the "Family Package" deal for two nights - supposedly a King sized suite - didn't even include a refrigerator. A nifty electonic safe in each room, but no fridge. Is it asking too much for a small fridge in each room any more?

The soda vending machine was empty on Friday at 7 PM - and still empty the following afternoon. The breakfast wasn't bad, but all in all, given the amount we paid for the 2 night package, we won't be back. We'll try another location in the area the next time we go to the park.

We did love the park though! Idlewild was great.

I stayed here with my 6 year-old daughter in order to visit Idlewild Park which is located right down the street. The location to this attraction is perfect, though that is about the only positive thing I have to say about this hotel. First, I purchased a "package" which included the hotel stay, tickets to the park, a 2$ child's meal in their "Bistro" and a breakfast. When we went into the restaurant to take advantage of the Bistro component of the package, we were told that we would have to wait at least 30 minutes even to get ice cream. The waitress offered the suggestion to order and then wait in our room??!! Whatever. We just skipped it. Breakfast the following morning was adequate and the rooms were tidy though aging. We slept fine. I probably would stay elsewhere if I should again visit Ligonier PA.

We took the kids to Idlewild and purchased the special package. One night there was enough. The restaurant kids deal ($1.99 w/ drink) is awesome but expect slow service. The waitress I think was the only one working there. She seemed overwhelmed the whole time... we did have a party of 13 plus other tables she had to take care of. They seemed to be very busy for a hotel in the middle of nothing. We will be back next year for the same trip.
