The Waterfront has a lot going for it. If location is everything then they got it. Perched over looking the Juniata River makes the outdoor seating fantastic. We like it because it is a short drive from State College. Sometimes during peak summer, State College restaurants are too crowded. It is also a nice stop over between Harrisburg and State College airports. We only go during nice weather to enjoy the out door seating. With a large gazebo type roofing and umbrellas you are never exposed to inclimate weather in summer. There is an outdoor bar but depending on when you go, the bar tender may be inside. We had good wait staff. The food came out in a timly manner. The menu gives you the sense of a high end restaurant rather than bar food that many places put out. The had a good selection of seafood, steaks and salad choices as well as burgers. They have plenty of off street parking. In early evening we certainly felt safe.

My wife & I were buying a car in Lewistown and our sales associate recommended this restaurant for our "celebration dinner"!

The Waterfront Tavern is in a convenient location- just outside of the city area proper. Plenty of parking! We chose to sit in the 2nd floor dining area, although the 1st floor bar and dining area are also inviting. (The outside dining dining area is quite nice too!)

We were seated promptly and our waitress courteously explained the daily special to us. Lots of nice choices! My wife chose chicken piccata and I had a Greek linguini. Both were tasty!

The Waterfront Tavern also has a nice variety of beer & wine- plus desserts too. You can be sure we'll be back again- especially since "the locals" receommend it!

not too much can beat sitting outside along the river enjoying the lights, some tunes and great food and brew. They could have more of a selection of nondomestic beers.

This local favorite offers three eating locations – a bar with tables and sports TV’s on the ground floor, a quiet dining area upstairs, and an outdoor deck and bar in warm weather. The menu offers a creative selection of sandwiches, steaks, seafood, and pasta dishes – all good value at the prices and the best available in the area. Make sure you reserve for dinner, as the Waterfront is very popular with the locals – and with the out-of-state plates regularly in the parking lot.
