“Very disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2012

We went to the the Bone Works Grill with high anticipation of trying their specialty ribs. After looking at the menu, 3 of us decided that we would have the 2 1/2 lb. rack of ribs. Several minutes after placing our order and relishing the thought of those wonderful ribs, our waitress returned to tell us they were out of ribs. She said the chef had told her to "86 the ribs". She also stated the table of 4 behind us were also told the same thing. Now this was a Saturday night and the place was full, so you would think that they would have enough of their Specialty. Ok, not her fault, but we were disappointed. My husband then asked for the King cut of prime rib, I opted for the bone in filet at the waitress's suggestion and our friends had the shrimp ravioli and the tuna. Several minutes later the waitress returned to tell my husband that they did not have the King cut prime rib. Now this restaurant is very expensive. Everything is ala carte. So we ended up with a bill for the two of us for $90 and all we had was a dried out filet (that was supposed to be medium) a fair rib eye, two baked potatoes, a glass of wine and two beers!! They did comp us desserts, which we appreciated and the place is lovely, but we will not be returning.

“Finally, great firewood grill and steaks east suburbs of Pittsburgh (Level Green, PA)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2011

We have been waiting for 20 years to get a neighborhood establishment that was not just another barfood joint. In the suburbs east of Pittsburgh (Murrysville/Irwin area), our wish finally arrived with the Bone Works Grill opening in Level Green, PA (Rt. 130 east of Trafford/Monroeville). The restaurant has a fresh modern decor similar to Frank Lloyd Wright's use of stone and wood, with simple lines. It has a small bar and an inviting, but not too large dining room. The service was excellent, considering our visit was withoin two weeks of opening. We ordered a grilled rubin sandwich and an order of fire grilled ribs. Both entrees were cooked perfect - the rubin was crisp on the outside of the bread and warm throughout. The ribs really did fall of the bone and the sauce was clearly made on premisis. The side of their cornbread was very unique but great as well. Unfortunately, we did not have room for desert but thier chocolate ckae thing looked killer. I would highly recommend trying this place the next time in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh. How many people can say that they had fire grilled steaks and ribs in Level Green, PA. By the way, the place fills quickly after about 6pm and I would recommend a call to reserve a seat.
