We enjoyed our stay so much, that after a few days away in Virginia, we decided to spend that last two days there again!!
The rooms are beautiful, the pool area is so relaxing and tranquil, the food was wonderful. There isn't any negative comment PERIOD!!
We will definitely be back, possibly a long weekend in the fall, I'm sure the area will be alive with color.

We planned a two-day trip to Idlewild, so we needed a place to stay overnight. The Ligonier Country Inn was one of the closer hotels to the park. We loved that it was an inn, rather than an impersonal hotel.

We had plenty of room for my husband and me, our preschooler and infant daughter. The third floor has a common seating area where my husband and I could stay up and chat but still be close to our kids.

The breakfast buffet (included in the Saturday night stay) was excellent. Everything was made to order (french toast, pancakes, waffles, and omelettes). The service was good (hostess Frankie was a bit cranky, but in a lovable sort of way).

We didn't swim in the pool, but it was very pretty and lush with plants.

We plan to return to the Ligonier Country Inn again, perhaps as a family tradition with our kids.

The exterior of the Inn looks a little tired. The rooms however were a very pleasant surprise. One of the cleanest rooms I've stayed in. The decor was lovely. We had a small deck with wicker chairs and a ceiling fan outside our room. The beds were very comfortable. The continental breakfast was quite good. The inn keeper was very friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant was very nice. The night we stayed they offered lump crab cakes. Absolutely delicious! The only negative is that we could hear the TV's in other rooms (it is an old building!)

The Ligonier Country Inn was located in the quiet Laurel Highlands, but if you traveled a 1/2 hour in any direction there were things to see and do. Fallingwaters, Johnstown, and the pretty waterways and hiking trails. Ohiopyle was also a great find. We were approx. an hour from Pittsburgh and went to a game. Ligonier Country Inn was clean the staff very, very friendly and if you stay in the area make sure you check out the diamond in Ligonier and the "Orginal Pie Shop" across the street. We would stay again in a heartbeat and the drive up the lincoln highway was wonderful.

We spent a Sunday night at the Inn after enjoying a fun day at Idlewild Park. Although we had made our reservations online a week prior, the staff seemed surprised that we were checking in and admitted that they didn't realize they had anyone checking in that night. Upon arrival we placed a "to-go" dinner order at the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with our requests for ice, preparing our meal, etc. The food was very good (pot roast & potatoes) and we ate outside near the pool which was perfect for our tired 2 year old. After eating we took a quick dip in the unheated pool, but since it was so hot the water felt great!

We were surprised to find that our room (#16) faced Rt. 30 (about 50 ft. away) and how heavily traveled that road is. Until about 1 AM the road traffic was very loud with constant truck traffic. The other main complaint is that other guests were constantly coming and going, I'm assumming to go outside to smoke or possibly the kitchen crew staying late to clean up? It seemed like midnight before we stopped hearing the doors slam.

The room was adequate, with no extras. The linens were nice and the towels clean, but no extras. No hair dryer, no soaps or shampoos, no special touches that we were expecting from a B & B. The room did have a television with cable. The room was advertised on the website as having a tub & shower, but only had a tub. Lots of wear around the tub, no mold, but room seemed to need some updating with new carpet, tub & bathroom shower. The room seemed to have a strong smell of some type of cleaning product. The room felt more like an average hotel room than part of a quaint B & B.

Breakfast in the morning was a small cont. breakfast near the front desk. A nice spread of coffee, juice, milk, cereal, various fruits and pastries were out. They also served mini donuts and hard boiled eggs.

Check out isn't until noon which is nice, but we chose to leave after breakfast. We returned our key and I was surprised to find that the front desk worker did not ask how our stay was.

Overall, I felt the price was right ($92 for a night with tax), but I felt like the pictures on the website were nicer than the actual room. It would have been nice to be in a quieter location and a bigger room so we didn't have to be so quiet when our child fell asleep in her pack n play.

Prior to the stay I tried sending the Inn an email and I never received a response. I also tried calling twice with questions before I got an answer. I got the feeling that although they have a website no one there is very internet savy.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding reception at the Ligonier Country Inn and loved every minute of it! I have to tell you that we had saw poor reviews online and were a bit jaded about what we may find. Much to our surprise it is clear this Inn runs on the hard work of a small group of individuals. Everyone seems to share jobs and you feel as if someone is busting their butt to make sure you don't do a thing! We got a early check in at the last minute, the room was lovely (#18) and our breakfast kept us full until we got back to Baltimore. Give it a try you won't be disapointed!
