My husband and I stayed at the the Inn (Rose Cottage) on Sunday evening, February 19th 2012. It was President's Day weekend and we were both off on Monday. When we arrived and checked into our room were not impressed at the out side of the Rose Cottage it looked more like a large shed than a cottage. Luckily I saw pictures of the inside otherwise we would have immediately checked out. The interior was very nice and clean. The fireplace didn't work so we called the front desk and someone came right over and fixed it and when we asked him what time dinner was served in the restaurant he said the Inn was closed for the evening - it was 4:00 in the afternoon. So no bar or restaurant for our stay. The next morning we walked to the Inn for a continental breakfast of stale rolls, melon and stawberries. We would have been happy to pay for breakfast but again Inn was "closed". If I was aware of this I would not have stayed and paid the $151.00 for the night.

Good food in restaurant, rooms ok, bit small, decor is a bit out-of-date.

Our February stay was great and we would like to return in the spring, summer and fall. The happy, personable owners and staff obviously have a main objective to treat the guests (and pets) as family.
This Inn is Unique - it has motel type rooms & bath with a country B&B style. The exterior doors to each room on the 1st floor eliminates walking through house rooms typical in a B&B. Very Nice!
The Inn's restaurant is the best place to eat in Ligonier. (The locals also say that.)
A wide variety of foods. Great flavor. Beautiful presentation. Easily a week or two of enjoying different meals each day.
The outdoor, attractive, small pool in a private courtyard with gazebo made us wish it was summer. If you want a large pool, there are 2 public pools within 3 miles of the Inn - the Ligonier Beach and the one at Idlewild Park.
The Ligonier Country Inn is the true meaning of Welcome!

my wife & i just spent a weekend at the inn( 2-18-12) and LOVED it! we stayed in the Rose Cottage & could not have been more pleased. the place was very clean and beautiful. we ate dinner at the inn on saturday night and were both impressed with our meals. after dinner the owner PJ suggested we finish our desert sitting by the fire place. thanks for the suggestion PJ. the sunday brunch was perfect! maybe the best sausage i ve ever had. after checking out we stopped at the pie shop acros the road and purchased 2 pies to take home. we both highly recommend The Ligonier Country Inn & we plan on returning many times.

Room Tip: either one of the cottages on property.

This was a great find! We stayed here after skiing nearby at Seven Springs. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in the brick home that is part of this property. I think it's called the Schaefer House and we were in room 2. The room was spacious, clean and decorated in a cozy manner. Small but adequate continental breakfast was available. A quick trot across the street to the bakery filled us up the rest of the way. Amazing goodies there!
I would certainly recommend this inn as a comfortable and somewhat out-of-the-way place to stay. Ligonier Country Inn is much more enjoyable than a generic Holiday Inn.

My husband and I stayed in the Rose cottage and were very pleased. It is right beside the inn and houses 2 units. Everything was clean and recently updated. The staff was friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the Sunday brunch!

Just back from a Saturday night stay @ the Inn. There was entertainment that night that we came for, and wanted to enjoy ourselves with out the drive home. we stayed in room 4 of the Inn, our first time in this type (B&B almost) of hotel. It was like staying in the upstairs of an old relative, except for our own bathroom. Pretty cool, the room is old, the bathroom has been obviously added later and is pretty up to date. Everything is clean, bed comfortable, carpet a bit worn, but not really a complaint, just a fact. Everyone on the staff was really nice. No Ghost that we encountered, which was nice for such an old, storied location. The breakfast on Sunday morning was an added bonus, very good. The only problem we had, and it is not the Inn's fault, is that we (my wife) left our pillows there when we checked out. They are going to UPS them to us. Fantastic time @ the inn and we will return.
