I have been going to Joa since they opened 5 years(?) ago. I have been there about 25 times in that 5 years. I like to think this place is somewhat of a low-key gem, but I have a feeling there are thousands of people in the area that think the same thing, thereby making it less low-key. Regardless, I have never gone to eat at Joa and not been able to sit at one of the 8 to 9 tables available for in-house dining. Now, I'm not one who is easily "swayed" by new comers to the arena of legitimate sushi purveyors, but I think Joa may have tipped my scales on this one. There is a local sushi house in Montgomeryville, PA (about 5 miles from Jo) that has, hands-down, taken the crown for "best sushi for a good price" in the North Penn area for well over 10 years. I have to place a firm stake in the ground, however: Joa Sushi, based on my experience today, has handidly claimed the crown. This place is cranking out sashimi and rolls that will make Madame Butterfly cocoon, again. If you're cruising Lansdale and find yourself torn between turning into Burger King or Wendy's, do yourself a favor and ditch them both. This is the best meal on a budget in Lansdale. Period. Their lunch specials are phenomenal.
