Ray's makes the best cheesesteaks in the Philadelphia area and the value for the money can not be beat. Fresh rolls are overstuffed with beef and cheese plus your favorite add ons. The reviewer who said the sandwiches are sloppy is correct but that's a good thing IMO. Hoagies are also an excellent choice here with the same excellent rolls overstuffed with meat, cheese or other ingredients. All sandwiches available on 6, 12, and 18 inch long rolls. Best value on the menu is the 18 inch cheesesteak hoagie but any sandwich, hot or cold, on the menu is an excellent buy
Table service is friendly and quick but it's a corner sandwich and pizza shop so the atmosphere is astere. Takeout is best if you phone ahead because this place is jammed with people waiting for their orders on busy nights. The only thing that keeps me from giving Ray's five stars is that the pizza is just average. Go to Ray's for cheesesteaks, hoagies and/or a quick meal without frills but go someplace else if all you want is pizza.
Note, I listed "March 2013" as when we visited for the purpose of this review but the reality is we have been eating here at least once a month for the past 10 years.
