“Good Experience Overall”

We called ahead (20 minutes) and were seated promptly upon arriving. New updated booths and server's station make restaurant look fresh and clean. We took advantage of a 1/2 coupon sent to our e-mail to try 2 entrees off the LobsterFest Menu. The pricing was higher than we had remembered, but we received quite good portions for our money. As always, the servers were friendly and delivered our meals promptly. The lobster was a bit chewy (mayber slightly overcooked) but everything else was very good.

“Perfect during Lent!”

The seafood is always well-prepared and fresh. The salads also were well prepared and brought quickly to the table. My daughter always loves the cheddar biscuits! The service is usually very good. The recent Lobster Fest promotion provided some variety, which was appreciated during Lent. The only negative was the greeter in the front was a bit lost, and clearly was new, and confused regarding the computerized system of assigning tables. It was 4:45 PM, not crowded at all, and she asked if we wanted a booth or a table. We asked for a booth, and then there was a long pause, and then she said, you will have to wait. (Okay, no problem, I think, I can clearly see many open tables/booths behind her, and figure that won't take too long.) Meanwhile, she asks us to wait, and we do, for 15 min. as she takes other couples who also ask for a booth, and are seated. I am usually very patient with those who are clearly new, but this was a bit ridiculous, as we were the only ones waiting while she sat the others. Once I approached her again, the second person who arrived sat us immediately. They may want to consider having a manager or more seasoned person help the new employees so the guests are not made to wait.

“NOISY......”

Hadn't been to a Red Lobster in several years, and the one thing that has gotten even WORSE is the noise level.....WHY do these places insist upon BLASTING the music so loud that you can't even have a conversation???? We tried the lobster quesadillas and sure were NOT worth the money. Hostess and waitress were very attentive, very clean inside. Food was good, but small portions....Major complaint was the NOISE level.

“New Menu.......No Joy”

Today Red Lobster kicked off their new menu. I ordered the chicken portobello from their new selections. The chicken turned out to be very gristly and maybe a tad undercooked. The portobello sauce was really nothing more then some brown gravy with about 3 mushroom slices. There wasn't even a hint of portobello wine taste in it. I would not buy this dish again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The waitress was on her toes though and quickly brought me a menu to order something else, and she was quite pleasant, but I was surprised the manager did not visit the table to inquire what I though was wrong with the food.

“Disappointing”

We always try to go to a Red Lobster for their "shrimpfest". I think the company trains the wait staff to be very slow with the order and delivery of the food, so people will not hang around and eat much. We have had 2 good waitresses in the past, but unfortunately one left to be a nurse and the other only works a limited schedule. This was the first we have been here since the remodel, it looks nice but waiting 15 minutes on average to get another 10 shrimp, the benches start to get uncomfortable. The last few orders of the scampi were kind of rubbery also. We might give it another try and see if it improves, but probably call first to see if the good waitress is working.
