“A nice place to stay in Lancaster, PA”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

I was hesitate to stay here after reading all of the reviews. I stayed here many years ago and loved the resort but was worried that it was in bad shape. Yes, there are areas that need to be updated. The minature golf looked like nobody has used it in many years and it needs a good sweeping and paint. I stayed in one of the outside rooms that did not face the pool. They advertised children activities every day. On the night we were there, it was ice your own cupcakes between 7pm and 9pm. We went at 8:30pm and there was noone there. I asked the desk clerk who said she closed early because there was no children coming. The room was warm when I walked in. I turned the termostat down and soon the room was very cold; I ended up making it warmer and I am one that loves the room to be cool. The room was clean and served its purpose. The kids (ages 9, 7 and 4) loved the play room. They actually spent several hours between the play room and the game room. The outside pool was huge and had a small baby pool area. It also has an indoor pool. They also had a nice size sandbox area but you had to have your own toys. The room included breakfast which was a buffet. The food was standard buffet breakfast - nothing to write home about. Overall, I think this was a very good experience for us.

Room Tip: rooms facing the pool have a better view than the ones facing the parking lot.

We've been going to Lancaster, P.A. for years. We always stay at the Lancaster Host. The pool is primo, the indoor play area is fabulous for your little ones, and the staff is ALWAYS courteous, prompt, and willing to help. If you play golf, I suggest hitting this course. Very nice. I only played 9, but I was very pleased. The rooms are dated but clean and comfy. Plenty of room with 5 people...I know. The breakfast buffet is fantastic! Definitely eat there if you have the chance. Parking is never an issue either. My only real suggestion is ask for a ground floor. No elevator. The hotel only has 3 floors I believe. The location couldn't be better and the price is perfect! Go. Enjoy. Smile.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 4 year old daughter. While the décor is outdated and the hallways and doors could use a fresh coat of paint, we still had a nice stay for the price. The outdoor pool was really nice and clean and the lifeguards were friendly and on top of their jobs. All staff we encountered were friendly. The bathroom light went out during our stay and they came to fix it within 5 minutes. The AC also stopped working later that day and they were there and had it fixed with 15 minutes. Can't ask for better customer service than that. They also had a really clean and fun kid zone for the children with movies playing all day long and things for the children to climb and play on. We would stay again for just the pool alone! Beds were clean and comfy...Not a bad place to lay your head for the night. Great location to all the fun things to do in and around Lancaster.

The staff were phenomenal. Great customer service, a wide variety of ammenities for all ages. The management were very accommodating with my requests and planning of the reunion. Food was fantastic. Rooms need renovations (smelled like smoke) but overall the stay was great, indoor and outdoor pool, and location was a hit with the family.

Room Tip: The king suites are very spacious with a mini fridge and pull out sofa. Definite value for your doll...

Stayed here for a soccer tournament. Very outdated. Rooms were not very clean, hard to find outlets to charge phones, bathroom was dirty and the bath towels were small pool towels. Ate at restaurant in hotel. Keep away from there the food was lousy my daughter and I could not eat our meal it was so bad.

We've stayed here 3 x in the last year. Twice we have not had any A/C. Good is good. Management needs to clean up their act. Needs updated. Good location, between two outlet malls. Good is good. Waitstaff is friendly.
