I booked this Hotel through Hotels.com . I was kind of reluctant , after reading the reviews. Being prepared we brought our own pillows and towels. Needless to say we DID NOT need either : ) Yes, the place was some what out dated but it was EXTREMELY CLEAN. The front desk personnel was very friendly and I was very happy with the location , right in the heart of the town . The lit sign in front of the hotel said "Newly Renovated rooms" I have to believe this is true as the bathroom had granite shower walls & sink area. Although the furniture in the room was outdated , the linens were all clean and the room was perfect , especially for the price . There was one thing I was uncomfortable with. This was a mother daughter weekend, the entrance to the hallways, were not card key accessible, they were unlocked at all times letting anyone enter . This was unsettling to me as we went to see the evening Christmas Show at the American Music Theatre and came back to the hotel late at night. Lastly the SHOW WAS GREAT , what a nice way to start the holiday season : )

ok. for starters, the only reason i didn't dub this hotel horrible is because my family was able to laugh at the situation because it was so unlike we pictured, it was just funny. plus, i feel bad doing that... this hotel needs all the help it can get.
so the place sounded nice... who doesn't like the sounds of an 'italian villa?' the inn had beds and a bathroom {the necessities} but NOTHING else. FYI, there is no hairdryer, so if you stay, bring your own. the restaurant was not open and it was a Friday night. luckily, there were many credible restaurants in walking distance (applebees, fuddruckers, etc) if the hotel made some very basic, but crucial, changes, it would be much more appealing. even if it had been clean and out of date, it would have been much better. the highlight of that place was driving by dutch wonderland. and the laughs my family and i had at the inn's expense.
oh, and Italian villa my foot.
strike one: it has hot pink doors inside the hotel. ok, so that's not the real issue. but it smelled -- weird. that old smell of a house that's been abandoned or just really needs a good cleaning, stat. initially, the lobby smelled nasty -- the place just did not smell clean, it smelled stale almost.
strike two: the shower... or rather the dribble coming out of the wall... has individual handles for hot and cold -- that's fine and dandy, but the lack of pressure was not. FYI, the handle on the right is for hot water. but, needless to say, the facilities had not been updated any time in the recent past. after you realize that each person gets one pillow apiece, and flat ones at that, don't panic when you see that the tv with 'cable' looks like there's a blizzard -- it'll decrease to a gentle snowfall after it warms up. and when the 'AC' doesn't provide you with the most comfortable temperature (it's rather like the controls in a car, without the max AC button), you'll appreciate the idea of snow and cooler places. and to open our room, we had to swipe the key card (yes, there is a key card, in that regard, it's keeping pace with other hotels... kind of) three times... each time we wanted to enter our room. but i guess third time's the charm. and for all i know, room 14 is just unlucky. and the pool has a green liner, it's not algae.
strike three: the continental breakfast consisted of cold bagels on the counter in the lobby and a few muffins, on Styrofoam plates. in the hotels defense, there was a toaster. still, it was the worst continental breakfast we've ever seen. the woman at the desk was not very friendly and did not act as though we, the clients, were important in any way.
All in all, i won't forget the villa because after a while, all you can do is laugh at the situation. Its biggest flaw is that it was very misleading.

When my husband and I planned our vacation this summer with our two small children to Lancaster County, we chose this hotel because we could use more of our points than at other hotels nearby. Now I know why. Upon pulling up to the hotel, i saw one car. And that number never topped 5 the four days we were there. Although the rooms appeared to be clean, the whole place appeared very outdated and depressing, despite having just been remodeled. In our room, that was "just remodeled", the furniture, carpet, bedding, and fixtures were all circa 1972. The only thing that i could tell was just changed was the wall paper. I could tell because the outlet covers were never put back on! Apparantly the floor was retiled in the bathroom as well, as all of the pipes under the sink were totally exposed and did not appear finished. The carpet was outdated and dirty and the blnket and sheets were old, worn, and stained. Our toilet seat broke and the air conditioner stopped working after the third day. The whole atmosphere of this placed was gloomy and depressing. For what we paid per night, i expected a whole lot better.

I'm not sure if the hotel is the cause of the mysterious illness that we all came down with on our way home, but as we spent the last day of our vacation primarily in our room due to rain, it's the cause in my mind. My children both became so ill with fevers (103-104), vomiting, and diarreah, that they had to go to the pediatrician.

The only nice part of this hotel was the pool.

OMG! This place has got to be the ugliest place I have ever stayed at and it was simply terrifying. It is severely outdated, dirty and looks like Norman Bates works there. The beds are terrifying. The walls and ceilings are covered in dust balls that blow in the air conditioner winds. The carpet in the hall way upstairs is hideous and Charles Manson 60's looking.
It is absolutely hideous yet hysterically funny all at the same time.

Checkin was easy and the staff friendly, however the room was just gross. The sheets were dirty, the bathroom looked as though it hadn't been cleaned since 1980 and the odor in the room was stale and mildew like. We stayed here on night because we arrived late, but the following morning we checked out and stayed at much cleaner establishment. We were traveling with a little one, thank goodness for the pack-n-play because I would not have placed our child on any surface in this hotel.
