“Top-notch hotel in the heart of Lancaster”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times and have always had a pleasant experience.

It is very clean and well-maintained. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. They even have an evening turndown service with chocolates on your pillow.

FYI, I didn't know this until a colleague told me, but the blue bottles of water in the room are complimentary. No need to be afraid to drink one.

I even got a free upgrade to a suite on this trip, which was very nice! The suite has a separate sitting area with a hot tub. It is very spacious.

Breakfast buffet is good and included in the rate.

Just down the street a few blocks is Iron Hill Brewery - an excellent place for local brews and outstanding food. Try the crab cakes.

Hotel is only a short walk from Franklin & Marshall College.

Room Tip: If you're extremely sensitive to noise, you might prefer a room on the backside (away from the m...

This is the second time I stayed here. The rooms are beautiful and the hotel has unique artwork throughout. Excellent bartender and atmosphere. I will definitely go back. I have never stayed in a hotel with such a large shower!

Room Tip: huge bathroom, chocolates on the pillow and a rose, unique artwork throughout good bar!

The Lancaster Arts Hotel is a historic tobacco warehouse that was renovated into a boutique hotel. The rooms are extremely comfortable, very clean and well appointed. We received a red rose at turn-down each night. There are numerous works of art scattered across the hotel and the lobby if beautifully lit at night with colored lights. Room rates are a little on the high side but worth the splurge.

We found the clientele to be an artsy crowd and the bar scene was lively every night. The restaurant is also quite good with a focus on local and seasonal produce, but a little pricey. There is a wonderful free breakfast served daily in the lobby.

The front desk was friendly and helpful. The parking garage is enclosed. The hotel is directly across from a train yard but we didn't find it noisy at all. The location is outside of the central city, but probably just within walking distance in good weather.

I would highly recommend staying at the Lancaster Arts Hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the second floor - it is directly connected to the upper level of the parking g...

Everything about our stay was wonderful. We were greeted immediately and advised that they went ahead and upgraded our room "at no charge". They room was VERY comfortable and quiet. We heard no noise or voices from any other room. We live nearby, but wanted to stay downtown because we were attending my husband's retirement party and didn't want to have to drive anywhere. We had wanted to stay somewhere a little closer to the venue, but everything was booked. We used LAH as a fallback. Boy were we glad! We ended up walking from the center of town back to the hotel at about 1:00am. We felt safe the entire walk and when we entered the lobby, the gentleman at reception jumped up, asked about our evening and ask us if there was anything he could do for us. Even breakfast was good the next day. All in all a very wonderful experience. Thank you all!

Room Tip: The loft room was nice.

Beautiful environment with a wide range of exhibited art. Service was excellent at both the reception area and housekeeping. This is now our place to stay when coming to Lancaster.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recently surprised my wife with a birthday weekend getaway at your lovely and unique hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our room and the nightly turn down service. It was nice to stay in a place where the design and rooms aren't all the same.

My husband and I decided to book a weekend getaway and by chance we booked the Lancaster Arts Hotel. What a great place! We originally booked the "romantic getaway" package, but later changed to the "month of love" package, which gave us 50% off the second night. We stayed in a loft suite, which was a really nice room. The decor was very artsy (as the name suggests) and very non-hotel-like. We had a nice jacuzzi tub in the corner of the room, a king bed and a nice sitting area. The bathroom was big with a great shower. Our package came with a bottle of wine and chocolates, which were waiting for us in the room when we arrived. The turndown service with chocolates and a rose was a really nice touch. The room (as the rest of the hotel) was extremely clean! Their was not so much as a piece of lint on the floor when we checked in. Housekeeping was wonderful and the room was cleaned wonderfully during our stay. The beds were very soft (almost too soft) and our room was very quiet. We could hear the train whistle early in the morning, but it didn't bother us at all. We could also hear other guests opening and closing their doors, but no more or less than any other hotel. The art in the hotel was really nice and gave the hotel a much more trendy feel than a regular hotel. The front desk personnel were very nice and helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but we did have a couple drinks and a cheese plate in the bar. Our bartender was really great and attentive. The cheese plate was just ok and probably not worth the $15, but we were there late and the only other option was dessert, which we weren't in the mood for. The area is a more upscale college town and a lot of the other hotel guests were college parents visiting for sport events. This hotel definitely caters to couples and they do a wonderful job!! We will definitely stay there again!!
