Carr’s is a relatively small restaurant in a busy, cobblestoned block of downtown Lancaster. Mrs Too and I stopped in for dinner and I must say enjoyed our meal very much. We were greeted cordially and seated promptly, as the restaurant was not very busy. Our server was dedicated, prompt, and very helpful.
Ben went for the ribeye steak, and Mrs Too selected the crab cake. The ribeye was probably the best ever, with a rich flavor and much less fat than usual. Mrs Too found the crab cake perfectly acceptable, but prefers the Chesapeake style fried cakes, rather than the high-piled broiled version. Unlike some other reviewers, we both found the bread exceptionally enjoyable, and the wines by the glass were well above average.
This was our first visit, but will not be our last. Lancaster native Tim Carr lives up to every word of praise he has received, and we confidently look forward to dining here in the future.
Parking is scarce, even with a reasonably priced lot just across, so be prepared for the possibility of hunting around.
