We recently had the pleasure of staying at Diane and Scott's beautiful B&B Tuesday, October 23rd through Thursday, October 25th, 2012. We stopped in early before Check in 4pm and Diane graciously directed us to a local restaurant for lunch (where we also ended up having dinner)! We made the most of the day by venturing to Lancaster City to check out Central Market....fresh vegetables, meats, and cheeses! The city is a little confusing to navigate.....so we ventured to Bird in Hand and checked out the Mount Hope Wine Gallery(25%off cases of wine:) and free sampling. Then headed down the road to Intercourse, PA to Kettle Kitchen Village. There were over 40 specialty shops! The Kettle Kitchen Jams & Relish store was great! You could sample all the butters, jellies, jams, pickles, etc.....and see them working diligently in the back area:) Check in 5:30pm....Gorgeous, beautiful, and romantic......The suite, top floor, was amazing! Words just can not do it justice.....Dimly lit...fireplace.....Flowers with wine glasses, sparkling cider, local chocolates (my fiancee worked with Owner Diane to pull this off!;) Jacuzzi tub, heated floor tile in bathroom, and much more! The next morning my fiancee Dan surprised me with a couple's massage at Arianna's retreat across the street from the Inn.....75 minutes of pure bliss. Again this coordinated by Dan and Diane:) Diane is an amazing hostess and cook! Every morning at 9am she created a very gourmet 3 course breakfast....Presentation was A++ and Taste was spot on! I felt like I was on the Food Network! Roasted red grapes with Thyme, Salt, and Pepper...homemade nut bread with butter....A crust- less quiche with basil and ham served with delicious sliced cherry tomatoes in a light vinaigrette. Next morning...Lemon poppy seed muffins, heavenly baked pears in a warm syrup topped with sliced almonds, a decadent fresh peach french toast with a side of Devonshire cream, also served with 2 sausage patties! All served with coffee, tea, water, apple juice, or OJ. Great attention to Detail Diane! After the amazing experience at Arianna's Spa and Retreat (Melissa and Therapists were wonderful and I will post a review soon), we ventured out and fell in love with the town of Lititz, PA.....We went to the Julius Sturgis Pretzel bakery (we learned the history and even made our own twist pretzel), Wilbur Chocolate Co.(Store smelled like a giant chocolate candy bar!), and for dinner we ate at Haydn Zug's Restaurant close to the Inn. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with fall Mums, candles, pumpkins, and gourds... Dinner by candlelight, food was top notch, service was perfect as our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and perfect wine parings. A cozy and intimate setting....We also heard that Lady Gaga was there the previous Friday;)! We left the following morning...but stopped at Olio's Olive Oils & Balsamics on 41 South Broad Street, Lititz, PA per recommendation from Diane;)....owner/Entrepreneur, Peter Desimone, has a fiery passion for combining the perfect blends of Oils and Balsamics to make any foodie wanting for more! Needless to say with the help of Diane and Scott, my fiancee created the most romantic getaway that I've ever experienced! I would definitely recommend Diane and Scott's EJ Bowman House B&B for all who travel into Lancaster, PA! We wouldn't stay anywhere else now:)!

Fondly,
Crissy Madarang and Daniel Stofik

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful and spacious, but I am partial to the suite:)

My wife and I were looking for a B&B that eould provide us with a convenient location for a family wedding in the Lancaster area.
Our slightly early arrival did not phase our hosts a bit as they were busy cleaning rooms in preparation of the arrival of weekend guests. We were warmly greeted and not at all looked upon as an imposition even though they were clearly busy making preparations. They provided us a great recommendation for lunch which we enjoyed while they completed their housekeeping.
Our room was the third floor Bowman Suite which was spacious and utterly charming. The suite consists of two rooms and a sizable en-suite bath with large tub and a shower. Being on the third floor in an older house meant that that it took a minute for the hot water to reach the suite, but it was not a surprise as our host explained this to us upon our inspection of the suite.
Breakfast the next morning was more than expected. Served in a charming dining room we were served juice, coffee and fruit as a first course, a delicious peach cobbler as a second course and a wonderfully filling Dutch egg dish as a third course.
As stated by previous reviewers, we shared the table with other guests, but we almost always enjoy that experience when we travel as we can share in various travel experiences with others and learn a bit about where they too have traveled. It is not at all unusual to share tables in many parts of Europe and our breakfast at the EJ Bowman House reminded me of this.
Overall, a GREAT stay.

We stayed at Scott and Diane's wonderful B&B for one night while we were visiting the nearby Amish country. The thing about B&Bs is that in most cases only of the two Bs work out; you either get a good bed and crap breakfast, or vica versa. The great thing about EJ Bowman is that it delivers on both accounts. Tremendous breakfast, comfortable bed and quaint decoration with interesting historical elements. Also, the complimentary tea, coffee, soda and beer service is the perfect treat when you have been driving all day. Be prepared to share the breakfast table with other guests, which I think only adds charm and makes for a personable experience.

We stayed at the bed and breakfast for 3 nights and they were all amazing! Such a warm home and Diane and Scott were great hosts. Breakfast was delicious - I hope my husband didn't get used to it. And the extra snacks were such a treat too. The house is in a great central location so it didn't take us long to get anywhere we wanted to go. We will definitely be back!

Even though we got in after 6pm and we had to leave early the next morning, our stay was very pleasant thanks to Scott and Diane. Their home is not only beautiful but it is very inviting. Then with a house full of guests, Diane went above and beyond our expectations by making us an early wonderful hot breakfast so we could be on our way. If we ever get the chance to make it back to Lancaster we will stay here again - hopefully for a longer visit!
