Lovelace Manor Bed and Breakfast

Certificate of Excellence

We recently spent three nights at Lovelace Manor in the Rose Suite, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All four rooms are large and attractive, but the Rose Suite is at the back of the house, and it is probably the quietest room and has the largest bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the linens were top quality. Lark and Michael provided excellent breakfasts (two courses) each morning, and Lark's suggested driving tour of the Amish countryside was exactly what we wanted. We enjoyed the grounds and the aviary, and I was sorry that we did not have time to sip a glass of wine on the beautiful wrap around porch. I would highly recommend Lovelace Manor for any one who plans to be in the Lancaster area. Wheatland (the home of James Buchanan) is right down the street from Lovelace Manor, and we enjoyed our tour of the home. If you need suggestions for activities or restaurants, be sure to check with Lark and Michael, as they were very helpful. I would love to return for another visit.

Room Tip: Rose Suite costs a little more, but the larger bathroom and distance from the front street made it w...

Thank you for the nice review. It was a pleasure to meet you both and we're happy you enjoyed your stay. There is so much to do in this area and I'm glad that you got a good sampling of what Lancaster County has to offer. By the way, our aviary has a new resident. Our first baby dove was born shortly after you left!

Our stay of one night at Lovelace Manor was very enjoyable. Lark and Michael, the hostess and host, were very friendly and accommodating. Their expertise in restoring and decorating the property was evident throughout. The homemade goodies which Lark provided upon our evening arrival were perfect, as well as the coffee and tea. Upon settling in our beautifully appointed, comfortable room, we found that every amenity had been provided. Anyone who looks forward to breakfast as we do, will find a very satisfying, scrumptious breakfast awaiting them in the morning. My only regret was that we could only stay one night, but we will definitely book future stays at Lovelace Manor B&B as well as refer friends who plan to stay in the Lancaster, PA area.

Room Tip: The corner suite appeared to be larger with a sitting area.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience at our B&B. I am so glad your roadtrip of researching retirement possiblities brought you here. And thank you for the follow up email. It was nice to hear you found a place you like. We wish you both the best and maybe you will find a reason to be in Lancaster again!

We frequently visit B&B's after many years of business travel staying in chain hotels. I'm looking for comfort, ambience, quality and surroundings that I aspire to have in my own home at a reasonable price. Lovelace Manor has it all. But even more. At first I was a sceptic of so many high ratings when I reviewed this and other sites regarding Lovelace Manor. Having stayed here only two nights (they were full), I understand why so many guests rated it highly and are "repeat guests". Lark and Michael simply keep the Manor in wonderful condition and continually attend to the smallest of details to ensure your stay is perfect. The wrap around porch and garden are perfect for sipping wine from the nearby vineyards after a day of touring. There is so much to do in this area, it requires more than one trip.

We stayed in the Rose Room with a king size bed and attached full antique bathroom, all decorated beautifully with old and new amenities. The suite had wonderful cross ventilation, sunshine and moonlight if you just wanted to open windows versus use fans, air conditioning, heating or fireplace (electric/gas, not sure). It had so many temperature choices! It included an attached reading/livingroom with second t.v.

The hosts, Lark and Michael are like immediate family members. Kind, knowledgable and very accommodating to diverse needs. Homemade breakfasts are bountiful and special. Croissant French Toast, sausage, assortment of juices and fantastic pineapple, berrry and cantelope fruit plate, teas and coffees. Homemade granola, yogurt and Grandmas secret recipe cinnamon scones, Lovelace Manor's version of Eggs Benedict, bacon and roast potatoes. In addition, Lark is always baking something delicious to leave as a snack in the kitchen for the guests (coconut chip cookies, brownie fudge pie). We are planning a second stay in the near future and will bring our Mom. I know now to reserve well in advance. This place is a secret to "those in the know"!

Room Tip: All rooms are on the second floor. The stairs are spacious and quite manageable with large handrail...

You two were such a joy to meet and spend time with. I especially appreciated our mutual love of birds and some of those good Nashville musicians! We are so happy that you enjoyed your visit here and look forward to next time. And I remember which room you want to try next!!!!

We (2 couples) recently returned from a trip to the mid Atlantic. One of our stops included Lancaster, PA. I went online and made reservations at the Lovelace Manor B&B. What a wonderful experience. The owners, Lark and Michael, were such attentive hosts and had seen to every last detail. The rooms were lovely, well appointed, roomy, and clean. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The snacks were both yummy and handy. The full hot breakfast that we had in the morning was delicious. All of it was exceptionally good, but we really enjoyed the homemade granola in the yogurt and fruit parfait. Again, it just added that "special touch" to our experience. Lark shared with us an "off the beaten path" driving tour map/ directions for the Amish countryside. It was so very helpful and we thoroughly loved our day in Lancaster county.

Thank you so much. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. It was such a treat to host someone from our old home town, that could fill us in on what has happened in Nashville in the last 13 years! Our granola recipe is on our website if you want to give it a try!!!!

Outstanding B&B. The owners are awesome hosts and very helpful to guests both at the Inn and helping with surrounding interests. It's clear why they are rated one of the best. Would stay there again in a heart-beat.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lovelace Manor. We stayed in the Althea room, but all the rooms in the inn are beautiful. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and snacks are available to the guest 24 hours a day. My husband and I were there for a nice romantic weekend, and were were not disappointed. The innkeepers are very gracious, friendly, and accommodating. They were the perfect hosts. My husband said that they have perfected their art!!! Breakfast was delicious. My husband is a very fussy eater, and they were very concerned about finding something that he would enjoy. They succeeded, and we did not leave the table hungry!! Lancaster is a very nice area to visit. There is lots to do there. We had never stayed in a Bed and breakfast in Lancaster, before. We definitely plan to in the future.

We began visiting Lovelace Manor in 2012 when our son was a student at Franklin & Marshall College. We have been visiting this B&B for the past decade. I still get that warm and fuzzy feeling turning off Marietta Avenue. Lark and Michael are extraordinary hosts and know their guests quite well, offering superb accommodations, extras, advise, food and friendship. Extra touches are everywhere.....coffee, cookies, tea and soft drinks in the pantry, parlors to relax, and visitors information in their shop. There are cozy robes in your room along with thick towels, soaps, bath salts and lotions. Whether you are looking for a private cozy getaway or a drop site for your shopping bags, Lovelace Manor should match everyone's style!

Room Tip: The Rose Room is always our first choice.....massive bed, beautiful windows, two electric fireplaces...

It was wonderful seeing you both again. One of the things we love about owning a B&B is meeting wonderful people and making long lasting friendships. We're so glad you came back to town even though your son graduated several years ago. And we're happy we could show you some parts of Lancaster County that you were not familiar with. We will save more surprises for your next visit!
