“Great Stay, clean and close to alot of places”
Reviewed August 18, 2010

We stayed at the Hawthorn by Wyndham on 8/14 for one night. The hotel was on the main road of all the attractions in Lancaster including Dutch Wonderland, two shopping outlets, numerous places to eat and lots of places to shop. We drove to the hotel and got there thinking we would be able to check in early- but we were not able too. It was okay though- we went to the drive thru Starbucks, and then went outlet shopping at both Tanger outlets and Rockvale Outlets. We also went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner- which is like Outback and it was excellent!

Anyway when he finally checked in the room we had was extremly clean and comfortable. We had a king size bed. The room had a small sink that had plates and silverware in the cabinet which was a nice touch. There was also a microwave, small fridge and coffee maker. the room also had a pull out couch, incase you were traveling with additional people.

Also in the room, there was a small desk, lounge chair w/ foot rest, luggage rack, hair dryer and make up mirror. We were in a even numbered room and faced the highway, and did not hear any noise from the highway.

In the morning there was a continental breakfast that included, make your own waffles. bacon/eggs, fuit cup, hard boiled eggs, apple sause, bagels/toast, assorted cereals, muffins/donuts, coffee, tea, oatmeal and orange/apple juice. It was great.

Our stay was great, everyone was very nice. Please email me with questions.

We had a great stay, the room was very clean and fresh smelling. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all slept wonderfully. The hot breakfast in the morning was a surprising bonus. Most hotels serve cold cereal and frozen waffles for their continental breakfast. Hawthorn Suites had sausage, eggs, fresh waffles, several kinds of fruit, yogurt, and more to choose from. The staff was friendly from check in to check out. We were located on the third floor and it was very quiet. I did see someone complaining at the front desk about a barking dog on the first floor, but the staff was very helpful in resolving the situation. We stayed in several hotels during our trip up the coast; Hawthorn Suites beat them all hands down. We will now look for Wyndham Hawthorn Suites whenever we travel.

I really can't find fault, with the hotel, itself, taking into consideration, the affordable rates. The room , bedding and towels were all clean and there was a nice fresh smell,in the passages.

The front of house and housekeeping ,was all very friendly and helpful.
How ever, beware, this is a pet friendly hotel and if,like us,you are on the first floor, you might be stuck, with a whining, yapping dog, next to you !

The staff had a awful battle, with very inconsiderate ,selfish ,irresponsible guests, who would leave the dog alone in the evening, and subsequently, whining and crying.

We were offered, the opportunity to move, but at almost eleven at nite ,it was a bit inconvenient, but I must thank the staff, for giving us the option..

I loved the decorating in this hotel. The service was exceptional. Very convenient to restaurants and attractions. The entering and exiting was a little tough getting into this hotel, but nice quality for the price we paid. It is very close to the highway, but the sounds did not bother me. The breakfast was better than some of the hotels I've stayed in. I would definitely return.

We went to Lancaster, PA to go to some local shops, and to get away. We had never stayed here and did not know anyone who had ever stayed here. The location was a bit hard to find when you are coming down route 30. We accidentally tried to check into the other Wyndham hotel!

ROOM: Even though this one was near the highway (literally right next to it) you couldn't really hear the cars. The room was nice though except for a few minor details. It felt very stuffy....we did put the AC on, but still it was stuffy. They said it was a queen bed, but it was definitely a full. The bathroom was clean and so was the rest of the room. The other issue was that you could sort of hear the water running/ other showers from other rooms in the bathroom....so when we were trying to go to sleep, we kept hearing this hissing noise from it... its not really that big of a deal though. We also could not get the hotel internet to work in the room which was frustrating.

BREAKFAST: Yes its free and very good... huge selection
PRICE: Great price!

My husband and I decided to go to Lancaster for Valentine's weekend. Since we were staying over only one night - we decided against a B&B and opted for this hotel.

We were pleased with the room for the price. A sitting area, queen bed (comfy with duvet covered comforter) a kitchenette and a nice sized bathroom. The couch looked a bit worn, but that's an easy fix. The overall impression was a clean, cozy , smell-free room - that's what we hoped for and that's what we got.

I was a bit nervous because the room we were placed in was on the first floor right next to the kitchen where breakfast is served AND overlooking the parking lot with the highway in the background. I have to say that we did not experience any great noise levels at all (outside of our RUDE acros- the-hall neighbors that kept slamming their door at least 20 times in an hour when we first checked in).

The breakfast selection was good - we enjoyed it before we headed out for the day.

The front desk staff were also quite pleasant and helpful as well.
