Really a nice museum in a great location I think it has an elevator to get to upper floors.

This very nice small museum tells an interesting story of the area and people who live here. Beautiful artifacts. There is a $5 charge for the museum, $4.50 senior. They are no longer on King St. in Lancaster, but off Route 30 across the street from Dutch Wonderland. Also check with them about times they are open--it is listed differently in different publications.

The Heritage Center Museum collects, preserves, and interprets Lancaster County Pennsylvania's history and decorative arts.
From its exhibits and collections, see the visual works that decorated the homes and reflected the lives of the people who have called Lancaster County home through the years. Each museum piece is a lasting reminder of the people who created what is now Lancaster County history.

The museum is next to Market Place and connected to the visitor center. Got lots of info here as to best places to visit. There is book you can buy for $1 and take a walking tour of some interesting homes, churches and businesses. I thought it was very interesting but the family got tired of walking. The best thing is on the third floor. The printing press has people there on Tuesdays I believe. Our whole family loved the tour of the printing press. Kudos to the .918 club for all the interesting info!

We happened by the Heritage Center Museum, which is located next door to the Central Market. The museum is free, but there is a suggested donation of $2 per person. The second floor interactively exhibited Amish life, including Amish wooden toys, Pennsylvania Dutch language, Amish school material, as well as Amish furniture. The top floor showcased a print shop.
