“So good - a surprise for hotel food”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Excellent food and service. A cut above the typical chain restaurants and quality well worth the little extra cost. We ate both dinner and breakfast.

“Good Home Cooking”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

Staff was excellent and service was prompt. Bob, our server was great at entertaining our toddler during dinner. Serving sizes are large, so bring your appetite with you.

“Did not meet expectations”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We visited on Saturday, before Memorial Day. We ordered the Steamboat Combo for $8.95. The scrambled eggs were hard. The pancakes had a burnt grilled taste. The hashbrowns and toast were ok. The toast was already buttered. The bacon was tasty though. A lot of food for the money, but I left most of it on the plate. It could've been that they were busy (due to the holiday weekend) but in as much as we had to wait a 1/2 hour or longer for our food, it wasn't good quality and I expected better.

“What an awesome place.”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

This is one of the best hidden treasures that our family has discovered since relocating to the Lancaster Pa. The entire place is wonderful and they have the best breakfast in Lancaster. You must have the (Lancaster county family style breakfast) and get the French toast instead of pancakes. This is with out a doubt the best French toast in town. Also if you go there in the afternoon you must ask for the best waiter in town Bob, truly another treasure.

“Good Not Gourmet”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Huckleberry's is quaint in design. Service is good. Food is certainly acceptable but not "fine" dining. I ordered Delmonico stead rare and it was medium rare...but I have found that in most places "rare" is the way to order if you want "medium rare." House merlot was good. Spouse's stuffed (crab and shrimp) sole was excellent. Vegetables were done properly...al dente. Salad was good. We were there on a rainy Wednesday night before "the" season starts so while the place was busy it wasn't necessary to have reservation. It would definitely be necessary in season. We also had breakfast here. Too much food. Spouse had eggs sunny with ham and hash brown potatoes. Eggs were excellent, ham was good but not a very big piece and the potatoes were not good. I had scrambled - supposedly two eggs but this had to be more or it was a very large hen! They were just ok. Sausage was salty and again, potatoes were left on my plate. So dinner was a whole lot better than breakfast and when the total for breakfast (with tip) comes to $24 that's too much. We would have done better to go to the diner down the road. Now having said all of that we would go back for dinner and skip breakfast.
