The Fulton Steamboat is probably the most obvious of the Lancaster area theme hotels, and it's not surprising that my kids wanted to stay there as soon as they saw it. The hotel sits in a great location for many area attractions, and we found it to be a fairly good value by comparison to other area hotels.

The hotel staff was very friendly - check in was easy and fast, and when we extended our stay for an additional night, the desk clerk made a few clicks on the computer and handed us our re-programmed keys with a smile. Similarly, the restaurant staff was very attentive and remembered us each time we visited. I also thought that the follow up email after our stay was a nice touch.

Our room was on the smallish end, but the steamboat theme was well played. At some point, the hotel decided to seal off the outside access to what appears to be a long balcony on the upper floors, but given the outside space around the pond and the playground, we likely would not have used the balcony anyway. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size. The whole room was very clean and remarkably quiet given the proximity to the very busy road in front of the hotel.
Given the number of things to do in the area, we didn't have that much time to spend in the pool, though I have to say that the pool area is somewhat small and on the first night, it was quite busy. Like the rest of the hotel, it is quite clean and the kids really enjoyed it.

The hotel's playground was a surprising hit for my kids, and it is quite large. It is a great place to run off some energy after a day of touring, and the pond area around it is also very pleasant. In the summer, the hotel has a fire pit area near the pond, which looked fun, though it wasn't in use during our stay. There is a great mini-golf course across the street as well.

Throughout the hotel and the grounds, period music plays perpetually, but at a soft enough volume so as to be ambient but not annoying. The steamboat theme seems odd for the location, but in the end they do a great job carrying it through.

Fantastic cruise!! Every aspect was perfection. Front desk - smiling, quick check in. The lady in the gift shop who got us a cup of coffee because she overheard us say we thought there was coffee as well as lemonade in the afternoon. Dan, our waiter at dinner as well as the lady in charge of the dining room are a tremendous asset to this hotel. The entire staff is exceptional! We found a cruise package online that included the room, dinner and breakfast. Who knew that this would turn out to be one of the best hotel experiences we have had?

The place is beautiful inside and out, I loved the pool area and it was very clean and kid friendly. I am looking forward to going back this summer. The restaurant was clean and the food was great and plentiful.I also like to say to the staff "great job with the the up-keeping"

Room Tip: If you don't have kids and like to sleep late, don't get a room near the pool.

We had modest expectations for this hotel and were very pleasantly surprised. The room and pool area were clean and well kept. The breakfast was delicious. And there's a great playground on site. The only drawback is the busy corner, but who cares about that?

I recently took my grandson to Lancaster where we stayed at the Fulton Steamboat Inn. It was perfect! My grandson loved feeding the ducks and fish. We enjoy going to see Noah at Sight and Sound just up the road. The staff all were very nice. We ate in the restraunt at the hotel. It was very good and reasonable. Also my grandson got a free ice cream for wearing the paper hat boat:) We also went to Turkey Hill Experience witch is about 30 minutes up the road and you get to each lots of ice cream. Very fun! My grandson and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend! We will definitly go back to the Fulton Steamboat Inn!
