We checked into our room on the first floor and it smelled kind of musky, due to the fact it had been raining for several days. Scott apologized and immediately moved us to another room on the second floor. Later, we saw him putting in a dehumidifier into that room......the customer service here outshines all other resorts in Lancaster.

Room Tip: Third floor rooms Are awesome, first class!!!!!

A wonderful hotel. It is adorable, and super super clean. Like immaculately clean. It has charm and our 4 year old son loved it. From duck food at check in to the large playground outside. The fish around the hotel. It was truly adorable. We just stayed overnight but already know when we go back to Strasburg we will stay there again. If you are going to Lancaster and want charm with spotless accommodations book the Fulton Steamboat.

This hotel is fantastic! We stayed here when we went up to Lancaster for the weekend with Thomas the Tank Engine event (the hotel is minutes away from the Thomas station). From the moment you come into the lobby you feel like you're literally inside a boat (minus the swaying). The staff was very friendly and we were welcomed with some fresh lemonade and warm chocolate chip cookies! We stayed in the second floor and the room was spotless and beautifully decorated, very spacious and the bed was super comfy. We went to explore the new pirate ship playground and it was so much fun. My son LOVED it, there was so much to do and so many places to explore that he could've stayed there for hours! It's located right next to a duck pond and a beautiful gazebo, which made it so scenic and a great spot for pictures.
We had breakfast at the restaurant the first morning and it was delicious!! The service was fantastic and the food was superb.
Overall, I can't say enough about this hotel, it was one of the highlights of our trip and we were not expecting that! A great overall stay, I highly recommend it.

We passed this hotel on the way to Dutch Wonderland many, many years ago. At the time, I thought "how corny!" Well after reading all the great reviews on TA, we decided to stay here for the Hershey RV show. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. We chose the third floor. The room was large with a nice size bath and fireplace. Not cold enough yet to try out the fireplace. Used the balcony a few times. Was disappointed that it faced the road, but was able to see the farm next door rather easily. The bed was very comfortable. We slept great all three nights. Ate breakfast two mornings in the restaurant. Their french toast was one of the most delicious I've ever had. Especially enjoyed the hot tub during the adult swim time from 10 to Midnight. Met some very nice people there. The place is immaculate. Our first night, they had two busloads and our second night one. I was amazed at how quickly our room was done up when we went down to breakfast. Did some shopping across the street at the outlet mall and went up the street one day for the Sights and Sound Theater to see Jonah. I would not hesitate to go back - already planning another trip. Thanks TA!

Room Tip: If you aren't traveling with children, chose the 3rd floor.

We've stayed here a few times. It's just OK. The indoor pool area is small and the pool is too small. The hotel has a crowded feel. We like having a bar in the hotel. The on site restaurant is not very food. Rooms are OK. Outside playground is small, the pond with the ducks is nice if you don't mind dung everywhere. Hotel is at a busy intersection & hard to get in and out of.

Room Tip: Book early. Hotel seems to fill up for some reason. There's a no kids restriction for the 3rd fl...

This was my 2nd time staying with extended family (several rooms) at the Steamboat within the past 2 years. Last time was in winter, this time was at the end of summer. Since it was after the peak tourist season, rates were very reasonable (AAA-$109 + tax) while other hotels in the area were still charging closer to $150 a night. The hotel rooms and grounds were very clean for the most part. We didn't notice a musty (humid) odor in a room as soon as we checked in. Aside from that, not much too complain about in terms of room comfort. Room had a nice TV, refrigerator/microwave as well. We did have a pretty poor view from our 2nd floor room as it overlooked the roof of the restaurant on site. It's not like we had a balcony to gaze from so all in all, no big deal I guess.

Was a little disappointed with the size of the indoor pool. It was very small and the not too warm. With about 6-8 kids in there, it was actually pretty crowded. I bet the place would benefit by having a larger pool since its draws alot of people throughout the year.

The outside grounds were excellent with a nice playground, walking path around a pond where you could feed ducks/fish. Plenty of places to sit and relax in that area as well.

Breakfast at the restaurant on site was very good this time. Pleasant server and good food (French Toast was awesome).

Front desk staff was friendly and accomodating. Coffee was available for free in the morning in the lobby which was a nice perk.

This visit falls short of a 5/5 rating (musty odor, small pool). With that said, very few places in the area can compete with the Steamboat, especially when prices aren't as high as they are during their peak summer tourist months. We'll likely return again during the winter, or again late next summer or fall.

Room Tip: If you care about a view from your room, stay away from 2nd floor rooms that overlook the restaurant...
