At $169/night, with an additional charge of $14/day for parking, we were expecting more than we got. The room was nice but certainly wouldn't qualify as "luxury" (unless the mounds of pillows on the bed fulfill that designation). Several weeks after our stay, we got our charge bill which had the charge for the room posted on the day of our departure. We noticed an additional charge of $250 posted 2 weeks after our stay. When I called to inquire about this, I was informed that the charge was for "smoking in the room." We are non-smokers. Another in our party, similarly, had a problem with parking charges. They didn't have their car, but took the train. This is Lancaster, Pa -- we have paid less to stay in quality hotels in London!

Spiffy new Marriott in Lancaster, part of their new convention center. Since everything is new, nothing to really comment on about the condition of the rooms.

Staff is new and friendly. Parking is in a ramp next door, $14 for self park and $20 for valet. Marriott offers deals that include the valet option. Internet is $14 a day with unlimited phone calls -- that is way overpriced and the Internet really should be free.

The room and bathroom are smaller than most Courtyards as another reviewer pointed out. The fitness room is excellent while the pool is a little smaller. This hotel is designed more around business, so that all makes sense.

We had breakfast twice in the hotel restaurant. Service was good both days. The buffet was very good one day. Ordering off the menu was just average the other day.

Overall we really enjoyed the hotel.

The hotel is in a great location in downtown Lancaster. The room was nice but not spectacular. A few days before I had stayed near Central Park in NYC for less and free amenities. The pool was nice but the adjacent jet pool is too small for a hotel. It felt crowded with four people in it. The Marriott charges for $14 parking and .49 a minute for wi-fi. If I were to visit Lancaster again I would choose one of the lower priced options east of town. The Marriott is simply not worth the price.

The Italian Bakery nearby had a great breakfast. The farmers market across the street was fun. I also recommend the Visitor's Center across the street from the Marriott. The staff is quite helpful.

Spent two nights at the new Marriott Penn Square and loved the place! It opened only five weeks ago, so everything is sparkling! The rooms are gorgeous with great furniture and luxurious bedding and flat-screen t.v.s. The rooms were very quiet - we never heard other guests in the hallways or in next-door rooms. We had the same experience with the staff as the previous reviewer did - they were a bit green, but very friendly, pleasant and eager to help. Breakfast was very good in the restaurant and the pool was very nice. Parking was not included, but there is a garage attached to the building and is $14 per night. Hotel is in a great location in the heart of downtown Lancaster. Would absolutely stay here again.

We went here with family and friends. We had a wonderful time. The kids enjoyed the pool which was on the fifth (or thereabouts) floor. It had wonderful views of the city and gave an experience not normally found in Lancaster. The lobby is absolutely stunning and an architectural marvel. The old facade was utilized and also an older brick building has been incorporated into the lobby. The rooms were spacious, clean and new. We had a great dinner in the restaurant. Overall, the pros and cons were the newness. Everything was clean, fresh and new. The downside of that is that the staff is also new and obviously has some experience needed. Overall, in spite of this the staff had a great attitude and seemed willing to make things right.

Central Market is a great experience and fun place to grab a bite to eat. Downtown Lancaster is fun and vibrant and the Amish country is easily accessible to the East.

We'll be back!
