Been going to Cove Haven for over 20 years. Overall great experience! Alot of Changes but if you want to have fun in a quiet setting this is the place to be! Where else can you go that includes all you can eat breakfast and dinner, all entertainment, most of all it is attached to a beautiful Lake.

We have stayed at all three resorts. Pocono Palace is my favorite but this was nice too. Lots of activities to do during the day and the staff is friendly. The food was good at all the places we ate. A lot of wildlife around including deer and turkey. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The buildings in the middle that are damaged need to come down though. The only eyesore there. Lots of property for walking and running if you like that. Great stay for couples that want to be layed back but have fun too!

We had a nice trip to Cove Haven. We stayed in a Cove Fantasy Suite. The room was clean but had a bit of the smell of cigarette smoke, although it was a non-smoking room. The whole place has a "cheesy' factor, but that becomes part of its charm. The thing we thought was that the property is generally dated and in poor repair. Things like fresh paint, cleaning out gutters, fresh landscaping, and cleaning up of broken tree branches would go far to brightening up the place at a minimal cost. I understand it has changed hands within the last year. Hopefully the new owners will see the value in a renovation. The lake was wonderful...we took a boat ride, only wish it was longer than 10-15 minutes. Drinks were generally good, but not included in the "all-inclusive" price. The food was average. There was buffets both mornings, and one night for dinner. The second night we were there for dinner it was "sit down", but the service was so long...we sat at the table for 2 1/2 hours! You sit with other people...this is ok, but it was our anniversary and we would have liked to have a quiet dinner at a table by ourselves. The high point was the entertainment...We saw Lewis Black one night (and the tickets to his show are included in your stay) and he was great. There was a band and a magician the second night...the band was "ok", but the magician (John Graham) was really entertaining. The pools are nice, albeit COLD! The game rooms were fun, but many of the arcade type games were "out of order". The game rooms could use a face-lift, for sure. We enjoyed our room, and it was quite spacious. Over all we had a nice stay, and would return if there was an entertainer we would like to see we would return, but I would hope to see some "clean up" of the property in general.

Clean!! We stayed in a Juliette Suite. it was very very clean and very nice suite. The heart shaped jacuzzi was nice, the fireplace excellent. The inclusive comedy shows & musical entertainment was top notch. The meals great. We went on a pontoon boat ride & paddleboats, played indoor mini golf, ping pong...the indoor heated pool is decent size, the two indoor hot tubs great!! all staff were polite & attentive. bring your own wine & beer or pay $7-8 per drink at club. all indoor venues were clean and nice. some people apparently get upset about a few cobwebs outdoors on lights or porch. really??? this resort is wonderful. highly recommend and I am a germ freak.

We began visiting Cove Haven Resorts about 10 years ago. Our first visit was just spectacular. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but my wife and I think that this adds to the charm.

Unfortunately, the luster is really wearing off at Cove Haven as the place is in need of a serious renovation. Year of dripping water has destroyed the carpets and they are now looking shabby from all of the stains. The HVAC vents all have rust and mold accumulated near the edges. The 19" TV/VCR combo was a bit silly. Where would you even get a VHS tape these days? I was tempted to ask if they had VHS rentals at the gift shop.

The sound system in my room is a favorite feature, but inexplicably the management has not thought to include a simple cable to attach an iPod or MP3 player. I purchased a cable at a Radio Shack 10 minutes away and my wife and I enjoyed our music for our getaway. Why would the management waste the chance to capitalize on a great sounding stereo system that is wired throughout the suite, for want of a $10 cable?

What is with the building with collapsed roofs near the swimming pool? There has been a sign that reads “pardon our dust” as the ruse is that these bungalows are under renovation. The truth is that they have been there with collapsed roofs looking like the remnants of a natural disaster for a few years now.

Now the changes that we have noticed, gone are the friendly staff that greeted us on our first three visits. The staff that are there are friendly and efficient, but they no longer go the extra mile like the old staff. The difference is noticeable from the time you check in. On our previous visits the check in staff were very keen to point out amenities, activities, and remind you of shows and events that you really do not want to miss. We used to be greeted at breakfast and dinner with champagne, that no longer happens, there are no niceties like that anymore. When my wife asked about the absence of the champagne, she was told in a hushed voice that, “the new management is cheap”, sort of surprising that the staff is so keen to bash the management. The food used to be 4-5 star food, and it is still good, but it is clearly 2.5-3.5 star food now. The Friday night Fat Paulie’s was replaced by a pretty awful selection of International cuisine that was rather bland. For example, whatever they are passing off as Tandoori Chicken does not even visually resemble Tandoori Chicken. The steak on Strip night was pretty good, but our waiter had us sitting around for over 3 hours, and one hour of that was just the wait between the entrée and dessert. Why? Clearly there was not enough staff to host even the small crowd that was there, and the Maître D was refreshing beverages whilst our waiter was who knows where.

The entertainment, oh the entertainment was baaaaaad. The first night the show started forty minutes late and it was a Tonight show theme. We were very excited for the show because it was billed as several comedians. What we got when the show started was a band with a great guitarist, and really, really bad vocalists who looked like P!nk and attempted so sing every song in that aggressive shouty in your face style, and it came off totally wrong for most of the songs. We had to get our own drinks as the cocktail waitress was too busy to handle the whole place and nobody was helping the poor lady out. After a full hour of ear splittingly bad music, my wife finally begged me to leave as the comic relief was nowhere in sight. Saturday night we were forced to endure the Bridesmaids, yeah and I thought the first night’s band was bad. This group was so bad that they could not get enough shuttles vans to the venue to take away the droves of people who were walking out.

My wife and I still had a fun time with some friends that joined us for our trip, and we even considered booking for next year as they offer a special rate at checkout. As it turns out, the “special rate” was $250 MORE than we paid for this weekend that was booked last minute. Not a really great deal for “forever lovers”.

Regrettably, we spent the car ride home looking for a new romantic getaway spot for our recurring romantic retreats. There is so much potential at Cove Haven, but the neglect and frugality of the new management is ruining what used to be a great time. My wife and our friends were talking about how great this place could be with a minimal financial investment and a return to treating customers as valued guests.

Room Tip: We prefer the Garden of Eden Apple suite

Me and my boyfriend stayed here last week for 2 night and we had a great time. We stayed in the cove fantasy suite, it had a triangle pool, a sauna, and a hear shaped jacuzzi. They had so many things for us to do, breakfast and dinner were quite good. Breakfast is usually a buffet but dinner is switched between a buffet and being served from a menu. Lunch you can get from the cafe or i guess drive out of the resort if you want, Hawley, pa is probably 15-20 minutes away. The room was clean, you get a coffee machine, fridge, a flat screen tv, air conditioner, blow dryer, iron, and an ironing board. What i really enjoyed is the heating lamp to heat up the floor by the shower :). The beds were super comfy, and so were the couches. They had little starlights above the bed which were fun. You could either dim or brighten them. as well as the lights above the tub and the tracklights near the "living room". The pool was heated and well we didnt go in the sauna. The jacuzzi, lets just say be careful how much bubbles you put in LOL.

The people were very nice and we had no complaints about the service. You can get a "chariot" to drive you around the resort (some things are far away and there's a lot of hills). There were some rooms that were out of order, and their roofs came in, I think they use to be used as cottages. It didn't really bother us because everything else was so great. lol. Yes I guess it was a little cheesey but sometimes I like cheesey.

It was a little pricey, but I got a deal on groupon for the room that was pretty good. A lot of the things you do are free which is probably why it's so pricey, plus they feed you 2x a day and you can ask them to make you special things. We spent most of out time in the sports palace mostly playing the wii lol but they had other games to play and parrots to watch :)

Room Tip: be prepared to walk up hills lol
