We arrived at cove haven and we hayed the room, it smeled like mold and was very dirty. I went to the front desk and they send us to paradise stream which is the sister of cove haven resort. We drove there and it was the same problem. The rooms are.disgusting. We stayed the night only because we didnt want to drive another 5 hours. The food was cold and tastles and the service was awful. Breakfast was poor as well. Its not worth it. When I went to the frony desk to tell them we will leave one day early.because we were unhappy with everything the lady gave me attitude. I was treated very poorly and one of the other ladies said just to get rid of us. Guys dont do it. Its.not worth it. Also we ordered room service and nobody showed up. All we wanted was some hot tea. I hope they will give me my money back for that.one night.

We stayed at cove haven for 2 nights 3 days, this place is very romantic and we enjoyed our stay. One of the best things about the resort is the food, breakfast buffet was delicious and the dinners were also pretty tasty they will seat you in groups of 4 couples during dinner witch to us was pretty interesting because we got to speak to many people and become friends through our stay but if you will like to seat alone they will give you your own table for 2. Just keep in mind you will have to purchase lunch since it's not included.
As far as the bedroom its very spacious and the bed very comfortable but the main issue is that this resort need some serious update everything is VERY old like example old carpet, lavender door and old tv's but all of this didn't bother us much since the pool in the room was fantastic were we spend most of our time also we like the in room sauna and the fire place was very relaxing, as far as entertainment its great, good shows plus funny comedian's and good bars. The jacuzzi in our room yes it was dirty just as we had read in previous reviews before going to this hotel so we didn't us it, after all it's a good place to spend about 3 nights or so not more than that but after all it's a good getaway trip.

We first honeymooned at Paradise Stream (the sister resort of Cove Haven) in 1973. We have been returning regularly since then.

To celebrate our 39th anniversary, we decided on a long weekend at The Cove. Our room was a Champagne Tower near the Sports Palace. I like this location as it is close to the palace and is also an easy walk to breakfast. If you are not a walker, there is a Chariot on property which will take you wherever you want to go, just dial #550.

We had planned on an early arrival in order to have breakfast at the resort. A nor'easter put a crimp in that plan and we arrived shortly before 1:00.

Our room was quite nice. Since our last visit the 13 inch TV in the living room area has been replaced by a large Philips flat panel. This was a nice touch. The towers also have a Keurig coffee maker. I use my Keurig at home every day and it was great to have one here.

Friday night was Fat Paulie's Feast. You haven't lived, however, until you have had Dennis wait on you. He is not only your waiter, he is your friend and personal entertainer. He reminds me of the old time waiters in NYC. But I digress. Fat Paulie's is indeed a feast. There is a wide variety of selections from the buffet. The desserts are to die for. Hand-stuffed cannolis, tiramisu, a large selection of cakes and pies as well as a chocolate dipping fountain with marshmallows and fruit (skewers supplied). Please note, that if you want hard or soft ice, they will bring it to you from the kitchen. Don't be shy; if they have it, they will give it to you.

The evening's entertainment was a band by the name of M80. We haven't seen them before. The only strange thing was that when we arrived at 9:00 showtime, they were on stage getting dressed. That stuff should be done out of the view of the guests. Their music was varied if a little bassy.

The comedian was Tommy Koenig. A very funny guy and also new at the Cove. We enjoyed his performance.

Following his bit, we went back to the room and relaxed by the fireplace.

I can't comment on the entertainment for Saturday or Sunday night as I got sick and ended up spending those evenings in the room.

Saturday night's theme is "strip night". There are two types of steak in addition to other menu selections. The steak was wonderful. The desserts were from the menu with a sundae toppings bar. Again, if you want something not on the menu and they have it, just ask.

Sunday night was billed as a three entree sit down dinner. When we arrived in the dining room, a buffet was set up. It seems that someone recycled "The Hot Spot" from the week before and didn't change the dinner menu. Whoops.

There are many activities on property. The indoor activities include tennis, basketball, roller skating, ice skating, racquetball, mini-golf, archery, baci ball, pool, ping pong, Wii and many arcade games. Even though the weather is cold, you should have more than enough to do. There is also an indoor pool and health club.

Honest Phil, the CXO (Chief Excitement Officer - aka social director) was on vacation and was filled-in (sorry about the pun) for admirably by Mitchell. It may look like an easy job, but you have to keep everyone happy and entertained. Mitchell walks that fine line between insult and humor quite well.

The activity staff is extremely friendly. Audrey, Candace and Stepan do an excellent job of running the various activities. They aren't happy unless you're happy.

Overall we had a great time. We are technically Silver Forever Lovers as our early stays pre-date the program (whatever happened to grandfathering people in?).

If you want a nice romantic getaway, this is the place.

Room Tip: Get a Champagne Tower near the Sports Palace.

We stayed in the Garden of Eden's Apple Suite. Everything was very clean in the room. The tub looked as though it was buffed. Pool was not overly chlorinated so it was great to swim in. Friday's buffet was great, fresh, and the staff was pleasant. Saturday steak was a not as good, but everything else was. Did take a while for the steak dinner to come out. Deer feeding was awesome. The band was pretty good. Room service was right on time, food was hot. It is not a 5 star resort but I would rate the experience and treatment 5 star. Rooms are not as dated as some say. We enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back again. Thank You.

Room Tip: In the winter ask for the heat to be turned on before you arrive.

My boyfriend took me up here for our 1 year and we showed up went to our room champange tower and turned right back around and left. The rooms are so outdated and smelled like mold and there were you know what kind of stains everywhere. I was disappointed because we were really looking forward to it. The website makes it look so much better than it really is. The staff was however extremely nice and gave us our money back just stinks because we drove 4 hours to get here.

My boyfriend booked this trip for us, the week after he came home from his deployment. We left NYC at 11am and arrived to the resort at 3:00. The drive was nice, right through the mountains.

We checked in at the front desk, and were immediately served champagne. The front desk knew my boyfriend had just come home from Afghanistan and we were given small upgrade for room amenities - bubble bath, fire logs.

We pulled up to our suite, the Juliette, and when we walked into the room we both laughed - yeah its totally dated, but we came to be alone and have fun.

The room had 2 tv's a couch - which we turned to face the fireplace, and the round bed, next to the heart shaped jacuzzi, in front of the bathroom. The shower was large and there was a double vanity.

There was also a fridge in our room, which was great for chilling the wine we brought. I highly recommend bringing your own wine, well, because you can. Bring glasses too, and chill them in your room for after dinner!

We walked around the resort, its vast. There is a shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off as you wish, but we figured that out the next day. We grabbed a bite to eat at Spooners cafe at 3:30 and ordered a Philly cheese-steak, thinking we were going to eat dinner at 6. Well, they were gigantic and loaded! We underestimated the quality and almost didn't have room for dinner! An hour at the Colosseum bar fixed that, and after a stiff mojito, and a pancake shot courtesy of our server Mark, we were ready to head to the table for dinner. Fat Paulie's did not disappoint. Even the cannoli's were good, and that's coming from Italians from Long Island.

Definitely recommend the XXXBingo game with Honest Phil at the Parrot Lounge, the view is so pretty over the lake from the bar, and Phil is a hoot. Try the X-Rated Sangria, it was topnotch.

Dinner that night was StripNight, and was awesome. We were so stuffed we almost did not have room for the chocolate explosion sundae.

Sunday we took the day for carriage rides with Bob the Horse. Cheesy, sure. Fun, most definitely. The sports palace had indoor mini golf, and arcade games, Wii, and an ice skating rink.

From having just come home from a deployment, it was the perfect weekend, to just unwind, not rush, not have any place to be, or anything to do other than eat drink and be with each other. We ordered breakfast in bed, but the last day we went to the dining room to eat, and there is a greater variety, so I recommend that instead. But you get complimentary champagne on Saturday mornings, so be sure to mix a mimosa!

The whole weekend we kept saying, we can not wait to visit in the summer. Sure, its dated. But if we wanted crystal and fancy, we could stay on Long Island or in the city. We wanted to relax and the entire staff and the atmosphere and all the details were just right. You can't beat the cost of 3 nights away for what we paid, anywhere in NYC.

We had a wonderful time and look forward to going back in the summer. Perhaps even making this an annual trip to get away from the city and the hustle and bustle. I would recommend Cove Haven for anyone just wanting to get away with their significant other and just be in love.

My husband and I booked the champagne suit ($893) for a weekend and when we got there we realized that the room was nice but outdated, we also had to drive everywhere in order to do anything in the resort.. upon driving to the places in the "resort" we saw an arcade, a miniature golf area, a gift shop and a bar/pool area... so far first impressions were not good but we decided to get something to eat. When we went to the dining area we were told that dinner hours were from 6-8, by this it was only 2:30, so they told us that if we wanted some food we could either go to the cafe or order room service. We headed out to the cafe only to find foods that would find at a bar or theme parks not a resort. They offered chicken tenders, fries, pizza etc.. when we asked them what room service included they told us the same items of food..the package we got was an "all inclusive" deal, however we had to buy our own wood for the fireplace and bubble soap for the jacuzzi... Needless to say we didn’t feel like 893$ justified eating chicken tenders for room service and playing arcade games... so we cancelled our reservation losing our 100$ deposit and head back home.. another 4 hr. drive.. we drove 8 hrs!! in one day because we truly felt soooo disappointed at what this "resort" had to offer.. Dont ever waste your money nor time going to this "lovers resort" it’s horrible!!!
