Hubby surprised me for our 10th anniversary with a trip here. He was majorly disappointed with the resort; and felt like he paid too much for what we got. I told him it was fine; but he's right

We arrived and checked in pretty easy; the resort is so spread out that we had a little treck to our room. We stayed in Eden's Apple 101; it was split into three sections.

The room was clean but very dated; white stucco walls and red carpet everywhere...the upper sections held living area; couches and chairs; the red heart hot tub; that the water drained out if very quickly so you really couldn't sit in it and enjoy it for too long unless you kept running water which seemed wasteful to us. The kurieg coffee pot was a nice

the middle section held the round bed; it was so uncomfortable and hard we almost slept in the floor; and it stunk like mildew i had some room spray so we used that a lot. There was a fireplace and a nice flat screen tv; the bathroom area had his and hers sinks but the shower was small. There are hardly any plugs in the rooms.

The highlight and best feature was the lower section; the pool we enjoyed this the best...the sauna room was uncomfortable and we spent about 10 minutes in there total.

There are no windows so at night it is pitch dark. Making getting up almost impossible. Had to leave the wall sconces on low.

The dining experience; you have to walk to everything which wouldn't of been bad but it rained pretty much the whole time we were here. Cocktail hour was lacking; the drinks too strong, tasted and were over priced...they seat you in a group unless you request which we didn't know...the one couple at our table absolutely love resort and visit often so when we asked what there was in the area to do they were rude and had something negative to say about anything we tried to talk about. The food was so so...broccoli was served with every meal either as soup or a side or both...and there wasn't a replacing side offer. Dessert was mostly pies or strawberry shortcake and ice cream bar.

The only activity they advertise after dinner is the lounge.

The second day we had breakfast in the dining room which was decent; we went aroids the grounds which is quite a walk; unless you participate in the few activities they offer there wasn't much to do; the lake is pretty but I hope no one pays to stay in the harbour towers; it stunk from the outside like mildew and mold and windows looked so dirty I don't know if you could see out of them. Walking back there were several of rental cabins with their roofs caved in; sad ton think what this place was like in its hay day!

We left the grounds and did our own thing and had a good day; I do not think hubby really wanted to go back but we only had one more night to get through; so we came back in time for dinner which again was disappointing although we dined alone this time; we turned in our sheet for breakfast in bed; went to the gift shop where the man behind the counter was so rude; I quickly bought a coffee mug and we left.

The Quicky breakfast in bed was delivered by a rude girl who pretty much threw the box at hubby and left. The sandwiches were soggy and gross; mine was 2 fried eggs and a peice of ham. Coffee and juice.

We will not go back; if we return to the Pocono's we will stay elsewhere. Hubby was so excited about planning this trip and I kept pumping up the positives but it hurt to watch him just get more and more disappointed;he saved and saved for this trip and we knew we wouldn't be able to get our money back so we avoided the place except at night and made the best of it

We have been patrons of Cove Haven for many years, and continue to enjoy the beautiful scenery and fun provided by "Honest Phil" . He is the social director and is always "on". The staff is wonderful and has gotten to know us as regulars. The rooms are fun....some have pools and heart shaped hot tubs....just a wonderful and relaxing getaway from the rat race and worries of life.

Room Tip: If you never want to see sunlight....choose the Garden of Eden Apple...no windows! The Champaign to...

We had a FANTASTIC time! We are a happily married couple that needed some alone time and romance. Cove Haven may be old but Romance is in the Air and Romance never gets old. There were couples of all ages and stages at this resort. We are married for 15 years and enjoyed walking around the beautiful resort, playing some games, going to the shows (which are EXCELLENT), but our favorite parts were when we were in our room enjoying our Heart shaped jacuzzi tub and our private pool, which is perfect for Skinny Dipping! We actully booked a return trip before we left because it was that ROMANTIC!

We visited cove haven recently and are regulars . We love this place, but this last time we had a bothersome experience . We arrived at cove haven and were told our room was not ready. Ok we figured twenty minutes or so , but the man at checking told us ninety minutes. It was almost two o'clock already so we thought " wow three thirty ? ". We drove around and then went back to check on the status of our room. It still wasn't ready so we sat . We saw couple after couple come for their rooms and none were ready! Why? It was close to three o'clock ! For the money you pay ,three thirty check-in is horrible. One man was waiting since eleven a.m.! If that is the new procedure it could be a problem shelling out that amount of money . Everything else was great ! Whoever is to blame, housekeeping or front desk, making people wait hours will not keep customers coming back . Thank you. Also the man behind the desk is a nasty man in our experience ! Shame on him!

We first visited some 23 years ago. We visited again, and found little changed. Do not expect luxury, and the wow factor had faded, but there was a "comfort" factor that just seemed to work. Guests of all ages seemed comfortable with each other. That said, as a 50 year old couple, we found that we were not out of place (i.e. we had expected to be the oldest, but we suspect the 20- ish crowd or honeymooners would feel the youngest).
To the new owners - if we return and find the long time staff gone we will be sorely disappointed.
