Good slopes, not crowded - easy rental process. Not as much variety in difficulty as I had wanted

Service was good, food was very good, atmosphere was very nice. Definitely a consideration for dining while in the area.

We own a vacation rental at Big Boulder and go often during the winter and early spring to ski. We love their night skiing, the hours are convenient and it's less crowded than Jack Frost and other local slopes.

The lodge has a nice bar with a good variety of drinks, as well as a great view out to the slopes. They also invite local bands to play and entertain the guests.

I went here with friends and family last winter. We stayed in a private house nearby, so I can't comment on accomadations in the area, although there were plenty. Overall the entire area was very beautiful, I'd like to go back in the spring as well.

Big Boulder was your average ski resort - fairly average prices, average facilities, average crowds. We went around 11 on a Saturday morning and didn't really find any lines until 1 or 2. Food was your general ski-lodge price, they had a barbeque going outside which looked like fun, I think we got chicken fingers inside for around $6. Table space isn't fabulous, but finding seats for two wasn't too hard.

Only downside was going up and down stairs to get ski equipment, kind of a pain, but nothing awful.

Big boulder is a great place to go to if you love to ride park. The slopes are rather smaller, even for a PA mountain. I'd rate it 5 stars if you like park.... 2 if you are not a fan of park.
