Golden Plough Inn at Peddler's Village

We stayed there last weekend. The room was very large, well furnished and spotless. You know when you can tell the difference between food prepared by someone who cares v. someone who is going through the motions? This hotel cares about what they do and you can tell.

My partner and I stayed one night at the Golden Plough Inn in Peddler's Village. We had a suite which was located above the candy shop. The suite was large and nicely decorated. Within the suite is a fireplace, large jacuzzi tub and a sizeable living room area and walk-in closet. The Village was very quiet at night and in the early morning. The television was a bit on the small side for such a large suite, but we didn't watch much tv during our stay.

The chocolate covered strawberries I asked to be put in the room upon our arrival were fresh and delicious. The Inn also gave us a coupon for a complimentary bottle of wine from the Chadds Ford Winery store a few feet away from our suite. We also got discount coupons for breakfast at Sweet Lorraine's (great food and staff) which is adjacent to the Golden Plough front desk building.

There are many nice shops and restaurants in Peddler's Village all of which are in close proximity to the suite. We also took a trip to New Hope, PA which is only a few miles away and worth visiting.

Overall I would stay here again, however I think a one or two night stay is more than enough time to enjoy the area. I've been to Peddler's Village many times in the past, but never stayed overnight until now.

My only complaint is that someone other than a guest of the Golden Plough was parked in our assigned parking spot for our whole stay. The front desk advised us to park in another designated spot which was much farther away from our room. That unauthorized vehicle was not towed--as all the signage in the lot stated they would be--and never moved. A minor inconvenience, but still a bother in the rain.

The room was comfy, clean with a hot tub and fireplace. The inn itself was quiet, and quite relaxing. The staff friendly and accomodating. We did the murder mystery dinner package. The dinner show was a little corny, but fun. The food was good and you definitely left full. The show was just a little too long. We enjoyed the shopping both in peddlers and new hope. this was definitely more of an adults type of getaway

Room Tip: stay inn the main inn, not the tavern rooms

Our stay at this Inn was very comfortable, we had a corner room with a nice view. The room and bath were very clean but a little dated, I think with a little refurbishing it it could be much nicer. For $129.00 per night it was a good value and it is well located. They even gave us four $7.00 coupons, we stayed two nights, for breakfast at the attached restaurant, very good by the way. If i go back to New Hope/Peddlers village I will definitely stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at the Golden Plough Inn with our one year old daughter. The hotel and the rooms appear to be well kept and comfortable. Although, I can't say that it is the best place to stay with small children. If you have dust allergies, you may want to avoid agitating the curtains and the lace(above the bed), which were very dusty. After a restless night of ghostly sounds and the chatter of trucks outside, we decided to lift our spirits with some breakfast. The room included a couple of coupons for discounted meals at Sweet Lorraines(attached to the Golden Plough - same owner?). Our waiter was very nice, but we experienced an extremely long wait for less than desirable food. Forty five minutes after our exit, we realized that one of our GLASS baby bottles had been left behind on our table. I called down from our hotel room and asked if they had found one. The hostess told me that our waiter had located our bottle and threw it out in the trash. She then said, 'that is our policy.' I asked her why she thought that was a good idea and explained that we were staying at the inn and even charged our bill to our room number. She could have easily phoned the inn or walked 10 steps to the front desk. I left that conversation and the Inn with a very bad headache.

We have been to Peddler's Village and stayed at the Golden Plough Inn about 10 times. The Inn has some very nice rooms. All are clean and modern. There are some rooms with noise issues so, specify when booking a room that you want a quiet room that doesn't face a main road.
