“Business Trip to Philadelphia - Ace Conference Center”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

To be honest this is an structured, clean and executive place to do business in Philadelphia. Not to mention the amazing place where is located surrounded by a green environment and outstanding view.

I visited the Ace Conference Center for a full week due to a International business training and the logistics, efficiency and structured service makes this a great place to do business. (It is NOT for personal vacations).

Food is great, with options to eat without gluten and in general the taste is great. Everything is cooked with artistic hand.

The only negative thing is that they're not flexible in anything. Schedules are tight and must be accomplished or you will miss breakfast, meals or dinners.

Room Tip: Just ask for a room on the 2nd Floor (they don't have elevators) near the lobby (200-210)

Thank you so much for taking time to write a review about your recent experience at the ACE Conference Center. I am thrilled to hear that you had a great experience. Specifically I was glad to hear that you enjoyed the food, atmosphere and our natural surroundings. We do have an elevator right off our lobby for access to the 1st & 3rd floors, I am sorry that it was not easier to find.

Should your business travel plans bring you back to the Philadelphia area we welcome your return.

This is a all inclusive conference center, or at least that is the only use I have made of it. Service is excellent end to end. Buffet style meals are a consistent 4 star. Rooms are a bit spartan but everything is there... Again 4 stars. Meeting rooms are excellent. Break areas always stocked and clean. Good coffee. It is a bit remote but that can be a good thing.

This is a conference center, not a real hotel. So they book large blocks of rooms typically as part of a contract. When my business plans were cut short by a day they refused the cancelation as it was part of the their "contract." The food is served in a buffet and there are no traditional restaurants in the facility. The food is good but not exceptional. Wolfgang Puck logos were all over the place but the food was certainly nothing of the caliber of what you would find in his restaurants. It is conference food. The building is very well maintained but it is a bit of a dated feel. Internet access works great. For the money... there are much nicer venues.

Dear Caleb B. Thank you for taking time to share the details of your recent stay at the ACE Conference Center. You are correct in your evaluation that we are a Conference Center and not a traditional hotel. It has never been our intent to represent our services as a traditional hotel to our guests. Our core business is to cater to the needs of the business guest traveling here for a dedicated conference such as the one that you attended. I was disappointed to read your feedback about the food service as well as your experience with trying to maintain an early departure. Because our rooms are booked as part of a group commitment, we do honor those arrangements in advance taking them out of our inventory for general sale. As in your case when a guest wishes to depart earlier than the confirmed date we do charge for the stay as we are no longer able to commit your room for other guests on such short notice. I am sorry that this provided an inconvenience to you and that this was not made more clear to you when you confirmed your stay. I would be happy to discuss this with you further if you wish to contact me directly, my e-mail address is daniel.briones@acegroup.com.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Nice rooms and very friendly staff. Although they take individual guests, this is really a conference center for large groups. The food is good but options are limited. The night we were there, the dining room was booked out by a group. The very nice manager helped up get some food after a long day.

I was invited to speak at a meeting at this conference center nearf Philadelphia....never heard of it before. It was very nice and a great setting for corporate conferences. The staff is friendly. The guest rooms are nice. The conference rooms and options are almost limitless. The BEST part is the Gary Player golf course out the front door. If weather allows, do NOT miss an opportunity to play this course. Meals were served in a college hall-type setting, but the Wolfgang Puck food made up for a definite lack in atmosphere.

Room Tip: Ask for an eastern view of the golf course.

The Ace is perfect for a conference:beautiful views of the golf course, wonderfully prepared food, great meeting spaces. Everything is self-contained and centered around the conference. Meals are served at appointed times and there is no other food service in the complex. The center was also accommodating for myself and other wives who wanted to explore the area outside the center, but you have to ask the right person. One person said there was no way to leave the center without your own car, another person said that a staff car would take the six of us to the train station 5 minutes away. We took the train into Philadelphia and had a wonderful day of exploring. The next day we got incorrect directions to go to Chestnut Hill, a wonderful town nearby. My advice--be sure and take your own map, and talk to the manager for things to do if you want to venture outside the actual conference center.

Room Tip: The view of the golf course makes the room extra special.

Unlike some others I did not have trouble finding the hotel - just the lobby! The parking lot closest to the lobby does not have stairs or a pathway to take you to the hotel. The food was great and I would not skip the desserts. The room was very up-to-date and larger than the average hotel room. Unfortunately, finding hair from a previous guest in the shower and other areas of the bathroom was not fun.

Be aware that the resort is built like a multi-level maze. Many people from our group struggled to navigate the facility and a number of folks had trouble finding their cars at the end of the day as there are multiple parking lots. My advice is to go for the food, check your room before unpacking and be aware of your location.
