“Very cool old bridge!”

Reviewed July 8, 2013

This bridge is pretty neat. It is a quick stop and easy to cross, even though it is only one lane. It is also historical, since it was designed by the same person who designed the Brooklyn Bridge.

Such a quick stop, so it should not be missed!

We stopped again at the bridge on our way to the Poconos. Very interesting site. Be sure to take a few minutes to visit the Minisink Battleground while there.

Beautiful bridge over the Delaware River. Amazing this was designed and built without computer aids and it is still standing. We enjoyed viewing pictures of families crossing the aquaduct in their barges.

This bridge is an interesting, engaging history lesson about; Pennsylvania, New York State, the transportation of coal from PA to the Hudson River, the timber industry, the genius of the Roebling family.
PS.

It's also a beautiful spot on the upper Delaware River spanning NY and PA and a 2 minute walk to the Zane Grey museum.

This is a great place to take a short walk over the Delaware River. In the winter this is a great place to view the wintering Bald Eagles. Year round there is a resident pair of eagles who frequent the area. After you walk across the bridge on the PA side walk along the road along the river towards the boat ramp to see the grave of an unknown revolutionary war soldier from the battle of Minisink. Always keep your eyes on the sky around you and look for hawks, eagles and ducks that frequent the area.
