Late February and all of March bring an influx of waterfowl to this beautiful natural area. Watching the snow geese and tundra swans fly overhead, then land on the lake is a breathtaking experience. The sheer beauty of tens of thousands of birds is worth the trip. The visitors center is open from 8 am to 4 pm Tuesday - Saturday and Sunday 12 - 5 pm. this period and contains both a bird watching station with binoculars and field guides and displays.
