Description: The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. Legal Sea Foods is a Philly favorite. Surrounded by hotels and near both the Valley Forge Convention Center and Valley Forge National Historic Site, we are at a mall entrance on the upper level of the Court. Guests get reeled in by our buzz-worthy lounge and comfortable dining room. Half-shell hedonists may sit at our 10-seat horse-shoe shaped oyster bar where slurping is encouraged. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.

“disappointing but worth another try”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

The restaurant strikes me as a place that is trying to be more fancy than it is staffed to be. I was with a group of 7 and the waiter (who was very nice) was overwelmed from the start. He had trouble with beer availabilty, could not recommend a wine, didn't know the kitchen was out of a popular fish (3 of us ordered it and was later told they only had 1 cut left), we were never asked for another drink we had to request, two of our orders came out wrong and at the end of the meal we were allowed to order another bottle of wine but were denied any other alcohol or nitecap. The food itself was about a 7 out of 10, and the manager did give a discount off of our bill when one of the people in our party requested it to the waiter due to the issues we had. Briefly talking to groups that sat close to us they basically shared the experience we had.

All and all I would go back because I like fresh fish. But not sure I would bring a group larger than 3 or 4 people.

Sat at bar for dinner, they were not that busy and entree still took way to long to get to us. free shrimp cocktail while waiting eased the wait a little. food always good, but pricey.

The service was average. The food was excellent...Pricey!! The location is convenient at the mall. I could buy a bottle of wine for their price of a glass. Phew!!

“Great quality lunch that met the needs of both the young and getting older”
Reviewed February 19, 2013 via mobile

Swordfish salad and crispy fish tacos were great with three kinds of raw oysters for under $50 that was really terrific. The staff was very attentive and the place was beautiful even if in a super mall.
